Hyundai Aura S AMT gets several additions including six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), LED DRLs, hill-start assist control (HAC), etc

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has added a new S AMT variant to the Aura sedan’s range bringing its automated manual transmission to a new set of buyers. With the launch of this mid-spec variant at Rs 8.07 lakh (ex-showroom), the Aura S AMT slots between manual and higher-spec trims while packing a more comprehensive feature list.

The Hyundai Aura uses a 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine which kicks out 83 PS maximum power and 114 Nm of peak torque. It is linked with a five-speed manual or an AMT transmission. The CNG variant is sold only with a five-speed manual gearbox and it develops 69 PS power and 95.2 Nm of torque.

On the equipment front, the Aura S AMT gets several additions including six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), hill-start assist control (HAC) and tyre pressure monitoring system (highline). LED daytime running lamps and electrically foldable ORVMs with integrated turn indicators are also part of the package.

Hyundai’s decision to introduce AMT technology at this trim level follows increasing demand for automatic options across the compact sedan segment. Buyers are also preferring to go with CNG models in this particular space in recent years majorly. Speaking on the launch of the new variant, Tarun Garg, Whole-Time Director and Chief Operating Officer, Hyundai Motor India Limited, said,

2023 Hyundai Aura Facelift 4

The Hyundai Aura S AMT is around Rs. 70,000 costlier than the S MT and is cheaper than the automatic base versions of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Honda Amaze.
