2026 MG Hector will go on sale on December 15 and the teaser confirms the existence of a new front grille section so far
JSW MG Motor India has released the first teaser video of the facelifted version of the Hector ahead of its scheduled market launch on December 15, 2025. The teaser shows the presence of a new front grille section with twin vertical slats in series arrangements across multiple rows as it replaces the diamond-like finish found in the existing model.
The MG corporate badge remains the same as it is and we expect updates to the bumper and light housings as well. In the days leading up to its debut, we expect more details to unravel. The midsize SUV has been on sale in the domestic market since 2019 and it announced the entry of the brand to India with good reception.
It is already available with a large 14-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a panoramic sunroof and over 70 connected car functionalities and a suite of ADAS tech. The Hector’s range saw expansion over the years with the addition of the Hector Plus variant boasting three-row seating arrangement.

The upcoming update will become the second mid-cycle revision for the brand and we expect new colour schemes to be offered as well to spice up the proceedings. In addition, the interior could gain notable new features and technologies including Level 2+ ADAS but no confirmation has been made yet.
The Hector derives power from a 1.5L four-cylinder petrol engine churning out 143 PS maximum power and 250 Nm of peak torque. Meanwhile, the 2.0L four-cylinder diesel engine pumps out 170 PS and 350 Nm. The petrol version is mated to a six-speed manual transmission as standard while a CVT automatic unit comes as an option.
