Tata Motors will launch at least three all-electric cars in 2026 to further expand its EV portfolio in the Indian market
Tata Motors is the undisputed leader of the EV segment in the Indian market. It has the widest portfolio of passenger electric cars with as many as six models namely Tiago EV, Tigor EV, Punch EV, Nexon EV, Curvv EV and Harrier EV. However, despite ruling the roost, the company has plans to further expand the EV segment with the introduction of at least 3 new electric cars by the end of 2026. Hence, in this piece, we will talk in detail about the 3 new Tata electric cars launching this year in India.
1. Tata Sierra EV
The all-electric version of the Sierra will be launched in Q1 FY27 (Apr-Jun 2026) in the Indian market. It has already been spotted testing multiple times ahead of the official debut. Tata Sierra EV will be positioned between Curvv EV and Harrier EV in the brand’s electric vehicle portfolio in India. It is likely to be available in single motor rear-wheel-drive and dual motor all-wheel-drive configurations.
Sitting on Tata’s acti.ev+ platform, the Sierra EV will come with multiple battery pack options. Needless to state, it will share several components with the Harrier EV. The all-electric SUV could be rolled out with Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) charging features. It could get 55 kWh and 65 kWh batteries with the latter returning a range of 500+ km on a full charge.

2. 2026 Tata Tiago EV facelift
The Tiago EV facelift is likely to go on sale in the third quarter of 2026, ahead of the Diwali festive season. The road testing of the facelifted model of Tata’s smallest and most affordable electric car has begun and it has been captured on camera several times wearing camouflage. It is believed that the new version of the all-electric hatchback will come with redesigned headlamp setup, tweaked bumpers and new alloy wheels.
The interior updates are not going to be as substantial as the exterior and it is likely to be carried over from the ongoing model. However, the media reports indicate that the 2026 Tata Tiago EV facelift could be presented with bigger battery pack choices. Currently, it is available with 19.2 kWh and 24 kWh batteries which return a range of 223 km and 293 km, respectively.

3. Tata Avinya EV
Tata Motors recently confirmed that the first Avinya EV, a sportback, will finally be launched in the Indian market by the end of 2026. Going down the memory lane, Tata Avinya concept debuted at the 2023 Auto Expo while a pre-production version namely Avinya X was showcased last year at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo. Based on Tata’s Gen 3 EV architecture, it is developed in a sportback body style with an upright stance like a proper SUV.
Sitting on Jaguar Land Rover’s Electrified Modular Architecture (EMA), it will support multiple battery configurations, body types and dimensions. Tata Avinya EV will be a premium model which will rival Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6 with prices starting around Rs 35 lakh (ex-showroom). It could boast of a 600+ km range on a single charge while equipped with an AWD system.
