In December 2025, as many as four new SUVs are set to launch/debut from brands like Maruti Suzuki, Tata and Kia
In the final month of the calendar year, automakers like Maruti Suzuki and Tata are all pumped to introduce new models in the midsize SUV space while Kia will likely host the global debut of the second-gen Seltos. Here we have brought you a rundown:
1. Next-Gen Kia Seltos:
The next-gen Kia Seltos is inching closer to its global reveal, likely in December 2025, before heading to markets like India in early 2026. After shaping Kia’s rise in the country since 2019, the Seltos is now set for its biggest overhaul yet. Test mules show a far more upright nose, a new mesh-style grille, vertical LED headlamps and C-shaped DRLs inspired by the latest Telluride.
Kia is expected to introduce a wider dashboard with upgraded materials, a larger touchscreen and a digital console within an integrated layout. Most of the familiar bits should stay including ventilated seats, panoramic sunroof and climate control but new equipment will be added. Under the skin, the trusted engine trio – 1.5 NA petrol, 1.5 turbo petrol and 1.5 diesel – is expected to continue with manual and automatic options. A hybrid variant is being evaluated for select markets.
2. Maruti Suzuki e Vitara:
The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara is built on Suzuki’s dedicated EV architecture and it will target a real-world range of over 500 km per charge. It will be available with two battery options. The interior will be packed with equipment such as a 12.3-inch touchscreen, a fully-digital cluster, Level 2 ADAS, automatic climate control, ventilated front seats and more.
3&4. Tata Harrier & Safari Petrol:
Tata is finally bringing petrol power to its flagship SUVs with the Harrier and Safari set to receive a new 1.5-litre four-cylinder direct-injection turbo-petrol engine. Rated at around 168 PS and 280 Nm of torque, this Hyperion unit will be offered with both manual and automatic transmission options – though the exact auto type (torque converter or dual-clutch) is still under wraps.
The petrol Harrier and Safari are all set to launch next month after the Sierra’s November reveal and will carry a slightly lower price than their diesel siblings – making them more attractive to city buyers.
