Tata will bring in as many as four new SUVs over the course of 2026 in India across different segments and price brackets
Several new SUV launches from Tata Motors are scheduled over the next couple of years covering both electric and internal combustion platforms. One of the most significant products is the third generation Nexon which expected toward late 2026 or early 2027. Internally codenamed “Garud,” the next iteration is reported to be a ground up update.
Changes are expected across exterior design and cabin layout with revisions also likely to the powertrain lineup including ICE and electric versions. At the premium end of Tata’s electric strategy is the Avinya range which is slated to enter the Indian market before the end of 2026. The first model is expected to be a sportback-style EV.
Avinya vehicles will use Jaguar Land Rover’s EMA (Electrified Modular Architecture) – a scalable electric platform capable of supporting SUV and MPV body styles amongst other formats. Tata is also preparing updates to its existing electric portfolio. The Punch EV is expected to receive a facelift in the second or third quarter of 2026 as well.

Planned changes include exterior styling revisions, interior updates and the introduction of a larger battery pack may also be on the agenda to help extend driving range. Another major electric launch will be the Sierra EV which is expected to arrive in early 2026. It will be offered with two battery configurations and is expected to deliver a claimed range of well over 500 km per charge.
The electric Sierra will share its battery options with the Harrier EV while featuring distinct visual and cabin elements. The electric version will come with two battery options as well with the larger unit offering a claimed range of more than 500 km. Both V2L and V2V capabilities are expected while the interior will be loaded with features just as the ICE model.

These launches outline Tata Motors’ product roadmap for 2026 comprising entry-level EVs, premium electric platforms and high volume based compact SUVs. Tata will bank of the EMA platform to expand its upmarket portfolio over the next two to three years while the mass market segments will also witness new additions.
