5 New Midsize SUVs Launching Very Soon In India – Maruti To Tata

The midsize SUV segment will witness the launch of 5 new models from Maruti Suzuki, Tata, Toyota, Renault and Nissan soon in India

Since the beginning of this calendar year, the midsize SUV space has seen a host of new launches and the competition will only get fiercer in the coming weeks as new models from  Maruti Suzuki, Tata, Toyota, Renault and Nissan are waiting to arrive:

1. Tata Sierra EV:

With an introductory price of Rs. 11.49 lakh (ex-showroom), the reborn Tata Sierra in its petrol and diesel guise has already created a strong impact surpassing 70,000 reservations within just 24 hours of bookings opening. Riding on this overwhelming response, Tata Motors is gearing up to introduce the all-electric Sierra in early 2026.

The Sierra EV is expected to be offered with two battery configurations with the larger pack likely shared with the Tata Harrier EV. The larger unit could deliver a certified driving range of more than 500 km on a single charge and it will support fast charging alongside boasting triple screens, panoramic sunroof, Level 2 ADAS and more. The e-Sierra could reach Indian showrooms in the coming quarter.

2. New Renault Duster:

Renault is all set to introduce the next generation Duster next month following its introduction in January 2026 in the domestic market. The SUV is underpinned by a brand new localised modular platform and it will get a strong hybrid 1.8L version but its availability has been confirmed for later this year only. With a long features list, an appealing exterior and high safety standards, the new Duster is expected to make a huge impact.

3. Nissan Tekton:

Based on the same platform as the new Duster, the Nissan Tekton will share the engine and transmission lineups too but it will feature a distinctive design taking inspiration from global Patrol with upright proportions and muscular styling elements. It will go on sale in the coming weeks following the debut of the Gravite tomorrow.

4. Maruti Suzuki e Vitara:

The e Vitara will announce Maruti Suzuki’s official foray into the fully electric passenger vehicle segment when it launches in the next few weeks. The electric SUV will be available with two battery options – 49 kWh and 61 kWh – with the larger pack delivering a claimed driving range of up to 543 km on a single charge as per ARAI certification.

Built on the dedicated Heartect-e architecture, the e Vitara has also secured a five-star safety rating in Bharat NCAP crash evaluations. It will come equipped with a large touchscreen infotainment system, a fully-digital instrument console, multiple airbags as standard, Level 2 ADAS, ventilated seats, automatic climate control and so on.

5. Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella:

Underpinned by the same platform as the e Vitara, the Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella gets a slightly distinguished exterior which is heavily influenced by the Urban Cruiser BEV concept unveiled a while ago. It will be launched next month.
