Expected to launch next month, the Apache RTX 300 will be the first adventure bike from TVS
The adventure bike segment is currently one of the most popular spaces in the Indian two-wheeler market. The market share of ADVs is expected to grow in the coming years with the launch of multiple new models from Royal Enfield, TVS, Hero Motorcorp and BMW Motorrad. Let’s have a look at the upcoming adventure bikes in India.
1. TVS Apache RTX 300 ADV
As per the media reports, TVS will launch its first adventure bike, the Apache RTX 300, in the Indian market next month, i.e. August 2025. The ADV was showcased earlier this year at the 2025 Auto Expo. It will be powered by the new RT-XD4 299cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, putting out 35 bhp and 28.5 Nm of peak torque.

It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip and assist clutch. Some of the highlights of the RTX 300 include a 5-inch TFT display, cruise control, riding modes, USD forks at the front and 19/17-inch front/rear alloy wheels, amongst others.

2. Royal Enfield Himalayan 750
The upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 750 was recently spotted testing in Ladakh and is expected to be unveiled in the Indian market later this year. The ADV will be powered by a twin-cylinder 750cc air/oil-cooled engine derived from the current 650cc unit. While the power output figures are unknown, it will likely have a significant bump over the 650cc engine, reportedly making over 60 bhp and 60 Nm of peak torque.

The spy images highlight the presence of dual-disc brakes at the front, adjustable USD front forks, wire-spoke trims and a distinctive design language, different from the current crop of Royal Enfield adventure bikes.
3. BMW F 450 GS
BMW Motorrad showcased the upcoming F 450 GS in its concept form at the 2024 EICMA. The new ADV will make a global debut in its production-ready guise by the end of this year. It will be powered by a new 450cc parallel-twin engine with the power output rated at 48 hp. The company claims that the ADV will weigh around 175kg.

The motorcycle will ride on a 19-inch front and a 17-inch rear wheel, with disc brakes at both ends. The production-ready version of the BMW F 450 GS has already been spotted testing in India, and it will be manufactured by TVS at its Hosur-based facility.

4. Hero Xpulse 421

Hero Motocorp teased the new Xpulse 421 at the EICMA 2024. Rivalling the likes of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and KTM 390 Adventure R in the Indian market, the new ADV is expected to go on sale by early 2026. The Xpulse 421 will be powered by a new 421cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine with an expected power output of 35-40 bhp. It will sport a new design language, USD forks at the front, long travel suspension and spoke wheels with dual-purpose tyres.
5. Royal Enfield Himalayan Electric
The all-electric version of the Himalayan ADV is under development, and the test mule was recently spotted in Ladakh. Reportedly, the Himalayan Electric will go on sale within the next 18 months, following the launch of Flying Flea C6 and S6 EVs. While the details of the Himalayan EV are scarce at the moment, the prototype seemed production-ready, hinting at its final stages of development.

Some of the major highlights of Himalayan Electric include USD forks at the front, disc brakes on both ends, spoke wheels with off-road spec tyres and a new rectangular instrument cluster.
