MG Majestor will lock horns with models like the Skoda Kodiaq, Jeep Meridian and the upcoming Volkswagen Tayron
MG Motor India will officially introduce the Majestor tomorrow. Expected to be priced between Rs. 40 lakh and Rs. 45 lakh, the new three-row SUV will directly target the Toyota Fortuner while also locking horns with models like the Skoda Kodiaq, Jeep Meridian and the upcoming Volkswagen Tayron. Positioned above the Gloster, the Majestor will become MG’s new flagship SUV offering in India.
Built on the ladder-frame platform derived from the global Maxus D90, the Majestor’s rugged nature has been highlighted through teaser campaigns showing the vehicle tackling demanding terrain at Mount Japfu in Nagaland. Dedicated terrain response modes such as Rock, Sand and Snow will be available – enhancing traction across varying surfaces.
Powering the Majestor will be a 2.0-litre four-cylinder twin turbocharged diesel engine producing 213 bhp and 478 Nm of torque as in the Gloster. The engine is expected to be paired with an automatic transmission and a selectable four-wheel-drive system. While MG is yet to confirm every mechanical detail, the output figures suggest competitive performance within the segment.

On the outside, the MG Majestor distinguishes itself with a commanding stance and upright proportions. The front end features a large dark-themed grille accompanied by a split headlamp arrangement and sharp LED daytime running lights. Generous use of skid plates and cladding can also be seen to differentiate itself from the Gloster.
The SUV rides on 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels wrapped in 265/65 R19 Apollo Apterra HT tyres. At the rear, LED tail lamps, Majestor badging and prominent exhaust outlets are present. The cabin will feature a large touchscreen infotainment unit, a multi-functional steering wheel and a fully digital instrument cluster. Buyers can also expect connected car functionality, a panoramic sunroof, powered and ventilated seats and three-zone automatic climate control along with a premium audio system.

The Majestor is set to offer Level 2 ADAS features, a 360-degree camera and an extensive safety suite and it has already gone on sale in Kuwait under the Rakan name. It made its domestic debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 just over a year ago.
