Hyundai is planning to introduce a host of new models over the next five years in India including pure electric vehicles and hybrids
Hyundai is preparing its most aggressive product overhaul yet for the Indian market. During its Investor Day roadmap revealed recently, the company detailed an expansion plan running till FY2030 that combines hybrids, electric vehicles and updated internal combustion models to bring up a refreshed lineup appealing to wide audience space.
As of now, Hyundai’s lineup is still heavily dependent on petrol and diesel. Together, they contribute close to three-fourths of its total volumes while CNG sits at around 19 per cent and eco-friendly powertrains barely scrape past the five per cent mark. But the balance is expected to flip dramatically. By 2030, greener options such as hybrids and EVs are projected to contribute nearly half of the Korean brand’s total sales.
The centrepiece of this transformation will be Hyundai’s hybrid strategy. The company has confirmed that eight hybrid models will be introduced in India by FY2030. Mainstream products like the Venue and Creta are strong contenders for electrified versions as the 1.5L NA MPI petrol mill could work in tandem with a battery pack and an electric motor to form a strong hybrid system.

The second largest carmaker in the country plans to sell as many as 32 models in India by the end of the decade. The portfolio is expected to include 13 IC-engined vehicles, eight hybrids, five pure electric cars and six CNG variants. To support this, Hyundai has lined up 26 new launches across multiple financial years. Interestingly, the real product blitz is scheduled towards the end of the cycle.
While FY2026 will witness four key launches, the floodgates really open between FY2029 and FY2030 when the company plans to bring in 14 new or significantly updated models. The strategy involves introducing seven all-new nameplates, six full model changes, six derivatives and another seven facelifts or major product enhancements.
