It’s not just you – Cloudflare is down, which has brought down a great number of sites. Cloudflare is a CDN (content delivery network) and offers cybersecurity and other services. It is widely used to reduce the load on a website’s servers and to protect them from attacks.
This level of centralization has its downsides, though, as we are experiencing now. GSMArena experienced issues briefly, but we have made some temporary changes and everything should be working as expected – tell us in the comments if you spot any remaining issues!
Cloudflare is down, which is causing issues on a number of popular sites
Some affected sites are hard or impossible to access, e.g. X and ChatGPT are down. Not everyone uses Cloudflare, so many sites are still up if you’re looking for something to do – Reddit and Gemini still work, for example. Our site is online too (or you wouldn’t be reading this).
It’s how it goes when a major service provider runs into rough water. For example, Reddit, Snapchat and many other sites were down when AWS had issues last month.
Cloudflare is aware of the issue – you can track updates on its Status Page. The issues seem intermittent and affected sites do manage to load occasionally, but it’s clear that the problem has not been resolved.
