Here we have brought you a rundown of the new compact and midsize electric SUVs that are set to launch within the next 12-15 months
The electric SUV segment is all pumped for plenty of action over the next 12-15 months as a host of manufacturers are waiting to bring in new models. Brands like Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata, Mahindra, Toyota and Kia are expected to introduce zero-emission SUVs across compact and midsize Caterogies and here we have explained them:
1. Tata Sierra EV:

Tata Motors is gearing up to revive the Sierra nameplate with two versions – starting with the ICE model that will hit the market on November 25, 2025 followed a few months later by the all-electric Sierra arriving in early 2026. The EV is expected to share much of its hardware and electrical architecture with the Curvv EV and Harrier EV and it will likely inherit the larger battery pack from the e-Harrier as well.
2. Mahindra XEV 9S:

The Mahindra XEV 9S is all set to go on sale on November 27 and it will become the brand’s first all-electric three-row SUV. Underpinned by the same INGLO skateboard platform as the XEV 9e and BE 6, it will be equipped with 59 kWh and 79 kWh battery units, capable of a real-world driving range of just over 500 km between charges.
3&4. Maruti Suzuki e Vitara & Toyota Urban Cruiser BEV:

The production of the e Vitara commenced at SMC’s Gujarat facility a few months ago for the global markets and it will be introduced in India next month. The five-seater midsize e-SUV will be available with 49 kWh and 61 kWh battery packs and it will be packed with features such as ventilated front seats, Level 2 ADAS and more. In early 2026, it will give rise to a Toyota sibling in the form of Urban Cruiser BEV. Both models will share battery and other critical internal bits but will feature different design philosophies.
5&6. Mahindra XUV 3XO EV & BE Rall-E:

The electric version of the Mahindra XUV 3XO has been caught testing multiple times on public roads and it could arrive next year to take on the likes of Tata Punch EV and some variants of the Nexon EV. Meanwhile, the more rugged take on the BE6, Rall-E, could also arrive in 2026.
7&8. Hyundai Compact e-SUV & Kia Syros EV:

Hyundai confirmed recently that its localised compact electric SUV is all set to arrive next year in India but its technical specifications are not known yet. It could be heavily influenced by the global Inster and will be positioned below the Creta Electric. Kia may also join the party by bringing in a compact EV based on the Syros but no official confirmation has been made yet.
