Royal Enfield Classic 650 125th Year Anniversary Edition gets a host of cosmetic enhancements to differentiate itself from the regular model
Royal Enfield’s milestone-year celebrations have taken a spectacular turn with the unveiling of a special edition Classic 650 at EICMA 2025. The company, now 125 years into its motorcycling journey that began back in 1901, has chosen its most recognisable nameplate to commemorate the occasion and at first glance, the standout element is its paintwork.
Royal Enfield calls it “Hypershift” – a colour-morphing treatment that flows between deep red and rich gold as the light moves across the surface. The tank, with a ‘125 Years’ insignia, becomes the central piece of the enhanced visual appeal while the side panels of the Classic 650 125th Year Anniversary Edition also carry the same celebratory crest.
In contrast to the vibrant tank, the rest of the motorcycle has been deliberately blacked out. The engine casings, exhaust pipes, wire-spoke wheels, frame, handlebar and even the headlamp and taillight surrounds wear a darkened theme. The stark treatment gives the Classic 650 a more modern look while allowing the exclusive colour scheme to take full spotlight.

Mechanically, Royal Enfield hasn’t reworked the proven setup. The anniversary model continues to be powered by the familiar 648 cc parallel-twin – an engine well known for its smooth power delivery and made for long distance touring. The output remains unchanged at 46 bhp and 52 Nm – paired with a six-speed gearbox that has become a staple across RE’s twin-cylinder lineup with slipper clutch as standard.
Besides the mechanicals and the paint job, the special edition Classic serves as a nod to the brand’s heritage. The teardrop tank silhouette, the nacelle-style headlamp and the proportionate stance indicate design cues that RE motorcycles are all too familiar with for generations.

With the motorcycle showcased internationally, its India launch appears imminent. Given the significance of the celebration and the sheer attention to detail on this edition, Royal Enfield is expected to position it as a limited availability offering and its prices could be announced at the Motoverse event in Vagator. RE revealed multiple new products at the EICMA show in Milan and some of them could feature in Goa as well.
