Mahindra XEV 9S will go on sale later this month and it will become the brand’s first all-electric three-row offering

Mahindra & Mahindra’s electric SUV offensive is about to step into proper seven-seat territory as the XEV 9S readies for its market entry on November 27, 2025 in Bengaluru. Once it goes on sale, it will become the company’s first fully electric three-row SUV, moving beyond its two-row offerings and expanding the born-electric portfolio into family space further.

A new teaser shared by Mahindra now confirms several design and interior cues that were earlier only associated with the XUV.e8 concept. Up front, the XEV 9S drops the familiar lighting signature of the ICE-powered XUV700 in favour of a more futuristic stacked headlamp design. The closed-off grille, sharp light bar treatment and boomerang-shaped LED DRLs help it carve out its own identity within Mahindra’s growing EV lineup.

On the inside, the dashboard is dominated by a wide triple-screen layout – similar in philosophy to the XEV 9e. The teaser also reveals a soft and light-toned interior theme, a two-spoke steering wheel design with Twin Peaks logo and a shark fin antenna at the rear. A key highlight from the latest glimpse is the second-row setup.

Mahindra has confirmed the presence of boss mode with reclining rear seats along with a large panoramic sunroof stretching above the cabin. The second row looks spacious and clearly targeted at chauffeur-driven owners though details around the third row packaging remain under wraps for now. Underneath, the XEV 9S sits on Mahindra’s modular INGLO platform, the same architecture that underpins the XEV 9e and the BE 6.

This means battery and motor options are expected to be closely related across the trio. However, with the added size and weight of a three-row body, performance figures and range could see slight variations. Even so, Mahindra is expected to target a real-world driving range of over 500 km on a single charge.

Features like powered front seats with ventilation and memory functions along with a full digital ecosystem across screens, Level 2 ADAS with adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist, six airbags as standard, adjustable headrests, wireless charging facility and more.
