Kia’s new entry-level EV will compete with models like the Jeep Avenger Electric, Ford Puma Electric, and Renault 4 E-Tech
At the 2026 Brussels Motor Show on 9 January, Kia will take the wraps off the next model in its global EV line-up – the EV2. The company has released a few teasers of the upcoming EV ahead of its debut, giving us the first official look at its design. As indicated by its name, the Kia EV2 will be the smallest model in the brand’s global EV line-up to date. The teaser images suggest it will look close to the concept version showcased in February.
The Kia EV2 will be positioned as a B-segment SUV and measure around 4,000 mm in length. It will feature a squarish body designed to offer an imposing stance and maximise space. Like every new Kia in recent years, though, the EV2 will look anything but conventional.
The EV2 will have vertically positioned offbeat headlights and daytime running lights similar to the next-gen Seltos, set to be unveiled on 10 December. The tail lamps will also have a peculiar look, and they will be positioned unusually low, behind the rear wheel arches, just like on the Syros. An upright front and rear will lend the vehicle a confident appearance, while large, squarish windows will maximise outside visibility and elevate the sense of space.

The interior of the Kia EV2 will have a clean and tech-focused design, featuring a sleek dashboard, a trio of cockpit displays integrated in a floating panel, a two-spoke steering wheel with an off-centred brand logo, and a customisable ambient lighting system. Cabin temperature, speaker volume, media selection, and other frequently used functions are all likely to have physical controls to ensure minimal distraction.
The EV2 will be powered by a front-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor, which could be offered in two states of tune, including a 201 bhp top version. A 58.3 kWh LFP battery pack is expected to power the motor and deliver a WLTP range of up to approximately 250 miles. Kia may also offer an NMC battery pack for customers who need a WLTP range of around 300 miles.

Kia has developed the EV2 mainly for European markets, and that could make it too costly for India. Instead of the EV2, the company will launch a Syros EV in our market next year, possibly in the first quarter (January-March).
