At the 33rd Annual Yokohama Hot Rod Custom Show 2025, Royal Enfield revealed two one-off motorcycles named Vita and Carolina Reaper

Royal Enfield put the spotlight on its custom culture at the 33rd Annual Yokohama Hot Rod Custom Show 2025 by unveiling two one-off motorcycles named Vita and Carolina Reaper. Held in Japan, the event is regarded as one of the country’s most influential gatherings for custom motorcycle builders, making it a fitting stage for the brand’s latest creations under its global Custom World initiative.

One of the highlighting builds, Vita, takes shape around the Royal Enfield Classic 650. Created by Yuichi Yoshizawa and Yoshikazu Ueda of Shiga-based Custom Works Zon, the motorcycle indicates the duo’s deep experience on the international custom show circuit. Instead of reworking an existing chassis, the builders developed a completely bespoke hard-tail steel frame, giving the bike a stripped-back yet purposeful stance.

A traditional girder fork sits up front while oversized 26-inch wheels introduce a modern visual edge. Mahogany wood accents are integrated into the bodywork contrasted by raw and unpainted aluminium panels. The combination creates a deliberate tension between natural textures and exposed metal enabling the handcrafted character of the build while still allowing the 650 cc twin-cylinder engine to remain the visual anchor.

Sharing the stage was Carolina Reaper, a radically different interpretation built on the Guerrilla 450 platform. The custom machine was developed by Tokyo-based Cheetah Custom Cycles – headed by artist and builder Toshiyuki Osawa. Displayed alongside several flat track machines, the Carolina Reaper draws heavily from the spirit of 1970s American flat track racing – borrowing visual cues from both motorcycles and period race cars.

Unlike the classic-led approach of Vita, the Guerrilla-based Carolina Reaper boasts a race-based stance. The design combines old school racing influences with modern detailing – resulting in a motorcycle that feels equally at home as a performance concept and a piece of mechanical art. Its stance, proportions and detailing represent an apparent emphasis on speed, aggression and minimalism.

Presenting these two contrasting customs in Yokohama, Royal Enfield showcased the flexibility of its platforms and the creative freedom it offers builders worldwide. From the heritage-driven Classic 650 to the modern Guerrilla 450, Vita and Carolina Reaper act as a testament to the endless possibilities in customising a Royal Enfield motorcycle.
