Mahindra XUV 7XO will go on sale on January 5, 2026 with a slew of revisions inside and out; no mechanical updates are likely
Mahindra has opened the order books for its XUV 7XO today. Interested buyers can place a reservation since 12 PM today by paying a booking amount of Rs. 21,000. Customers are free to select their preferred engine option, gearbox type and authorised dealership during the booking process.
Reservations can be completed either at physical showrooms or through Mahindra’s official digital channels. The market launch is scheduled for January 5, 2026 with the XUV 7XO stepping in as a comprehensively reworked version of the current XUV 700. Recently released teasers highlight noticeable revisions to the SUV’s lighting elements – hinting at a sharper design language.
On the outside, the SUV appears to borrow cues from the XEV 9S featuring an LED daytime running light signature, projector headlamps and a distinctive rear light pattern with inverted L-shaped elements connected by a full-width light strip. Additional updates include newly designed dual-tone alloy wheels and new exterior colours.
Customers will also get a redesigned grille with vertical chrome accents, revised bumpers, and XUV 7XO badging on both the bonnet and tailgate. Despite these updates, the vehicle’s footprint is expected to remain largely unchanged. Mechanically, Mahindra is expected to continue with the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol mStallion and 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engines – mated to six-speed manual and six-speed automatic gearboxes.
On the inside, the XUV 7XO is set to mark a first for Mahindra’s ICE range by adopting the triple-screen cockpit layout previously seen on the electric XEV 9S and XEV 9E. The cabin is expected to feature 5G-enabled connectivity, an updated infotainment interface, Alexa voice support, Boss Mode, redesigned air vents, upgraded interior materials, reworked door trims, a new centre console and a revised steering wheel.
Teaser images also suggest electrically adjustable ORVMs and a premium tan or brown dashboard theme with new upholstery. The XUV 7XO will more likely command a slight premium due to its added technology and design changes. Following the strong response to models like the XEV 9E, BE 6, and XEV 9S, Mahindra is clearly targeting a larger share of the premium SUV market with the upcoming XUV 7XO.
