The month of January 2026 will see the market launch of as many as 7 new cars, giving an exciting start to the year

The Indian automotive market is ready to witness the debut of multiple new products early next year. Popular car manufacturers like Kia, Mahindra, Tata Motors and Maruti Suzuki will launch some of their most-awaited cars, including EVs, fresh models and mid-life facelift updates. In this article, we will look at the new car launches scheduled for January 2026.

1. New-Gen Kia Seltos

Kia recently debuted the all-new Seltos in the Indian market. The second-generation model of the popular mid-size SUV is based on a new K3 platform, sporting a completely new design language inside and out. In terms of dimensions, it is 95 mm longer and 30 mm wider than the outgoing model, while the wheelbase has grown by 80 mm.

The bookings of the next-gen Seltos are already underway for a token amount of Rs. 25,000. The SUV continues to be powered by the familiar 1.5-litre NA petrol, 1.5-litre turbo diesel and 1.5-litre tGDi petrol engines. The price announcement is scheduled for January 2, and the deliveries are slated to commence around mid-January.

2. Maruti Suzuki e Vitara

The much-awaited Maruti Suzuki’s first electric car has already been revealed in the Indian market, and the prices will likely be announced in January 2026. The e Vitara will be available in three trim levels, i.e. Delta, Zeta and Alpha.

It will feature two battery pack options, 49 kWh and 61 kWh, with an ARAI claimed range of up to 543 kilometres on a single charge. Based on the Heartect-e platform, the India-spec model only gets a front-wheel drive configuration, with power output rated at 172 bhp and 193 Nm of peak torque for the bigger 61 kWh battery pack option.

3. Renault Duster

Renault has confirmed the debut of the all-new Duster in the Indian market. The much-awaited SUV will be unveiled in the country on January 26, 2026, however, the launch is not confirmed yet. Based on the CMF-B platform, the new-gen Renault Duster is expected to be powered by a 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine, putting out 154 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque.

The company is also evaluating a localised hybrid powertrain for the mid-size SUV. In terms of design, the Duster will largely resemble the international spec model, however, some India-specific changes are expected to be a part of the package.

4. Skoda Kushaq Facelift

The Kushaq is ready to receive its first mid-life facelift update in January 2026. The mid-size SUV will likely sport a revised front fascia, a new set of alloy wheels and a refreshed rear profile. Inside the cabin, we can expect minor changes to the layout, along with the addition of new features like a panoramic sunroof, 360-degree parking camera and Level 2 ADAS.

Under the hood, the Skoda Kushaq facelift will continue to be powered by the familiar 1.0-litre TSI and 1.5-litre TSI petrol engines, available with both manual and automatic gearbox options.

5. Mahindra XUV7XO

The mid-life facelift of the Mahindra XUV700 will debut on January 5, 2026. Dubbed the XUV7XO, the SUV will feature a new exterior design, along with some changes to the interiors, sharing some resemblance to the recently launched all-electric XEV 9S.

It will also feature a triple dashboard screen layout, along with new features like massage front seats, rear ventilated seats with the 6-seater configuration, 16-speaker premium sound system, multi-colour ambient lighting and more. Under the hood, the familiar 2.0-litre mStallion petrol and 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engines will continue to power the Mahindra XUV7XO.

6. Nissan Gravite MPV

Nissan is ready to debut in the compact MPV segment with the all-new Gravite. Based on the Renault Triber, the 7-seater MPV will debut in January 2026, followed by its price announcement in March 2026. It will be underpinned by the familiar CMF-A+ platform, however, there will be some considerable differences in terms of exterior design and interior layout, while maintaining the overall silhouette of the Triber.

Nissan Gravite

Under the hood, we expect the Nissan Gravite to draw power from the 1.0-litre NA petrol engine, putting out 76 hp and 95 Nm of peak torque, shared with the Triber as well as lower trims of Magnite and Kiger.

7. Tata Punch Facelift

Tata Motors is expected to launch the mid-life facelift of the Punch in the Indian market in January 2026. The updated micro-SUV has already been spotted testing on multiple occasions, highlighting a new exterior design, which will be shared with the Punch EV, albeit with minor changes here and there.

Inside the cabin, it will likely feature a new steering wheel, tweaks to the dashboard layout, a larger 10.25-inch infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster and more. Mechanically, the Punch Facelift will remain the same with a familiar 1.2-litre petrol engine under the hood, along with the CNG fuel option.
