New 2026 Renault Duster will be underpinned by the CMF-B platform; gets a muscular styling reminiscing the European model
Renault has officially dropped the first teaser of the next-gen Duster for the Indian market – offering a glimpse into its evolved design language ahead of its scheduled launch on January 26, 2026. The video opens with the original Duster evoking nostalgia before transitioning into the all-new model concealed beneath a curtain. The exterior highlights revealed include chunky functional roof rails, a sculpted bonnet, slim LED indicators, a horizontal LED light bar at the rear, rear wiper and the latest Renault logo along with a dark blue exterior shade.
The production-ready SUV stays close to its European counterpart in overall stance and proportions but some of the styling details will be brand new for India. It boasts a sharper front end styling with LED daytime running lights integrated into the headlamp units. The front bumper appears subtly reworked for Indian conditions while retaining an upright look.
The side profile will feature prominent character lines, squared wheel arches with thick cladding and large 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels possibly sporting a Y-shaped design. Key elements such as the greenhouse layout and prominent roof rails appear to hint close association with the Euro-spec model but the rear looks to be brand new – accentuated by a light strip instead of the Y-pattern LED tail lamps seen elsewhere.
It is based on the Renault-Nissan CMF-B architecture which has been heavily localised to help achieve aggressive pricing in India. Manufacturing will be handled at Renault’s Oragadam facility. The CMF-B platform also lays the groundwork for future derivatives including a three-row version planned for a next FY.
On the inside, the upcoming Duster is expected to borrow heavily from the international-spec model. The cabin will more likely feature a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay along with a 7-inch fully digital instrument cluster. A modern centre console with an electronic gear selector and sporty interior accents are also expected.
Additional features could include wireless charging, dual-zone climate control, multiple Type-C fast charging ports, Level 2 ADAS system and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Although Renault is yet to officially disclose powertrain details, the India-spec Duster is expected to arrive with two petrol engine options – offered with both manual and automatic transmissions.
