Tata Sierra EV will be available with two battery options and it will boast features like Level 2 ADAS, a triple-screen setup, etc
Recently, Tata Motors officially confirmed that CY2026 will be a big year for its electric vehicle portfolio with the Sierra EV, facelifted Punch EV and the first Avinya model all lined up for launch in India. Among these, the Sierra EV is expected to take centre stage sooner with its market introduction likely to happen in the early part of 2026.
Even before its electric debut, the revived Sierra nameplate has created a massive buzz in the market. The ICE-powered Sierra has already started reaching dealerships across the country and has recorded an overwhelming response. Within the first 24 hours alone, Tata received nearly 70,000 confirmed bookings while another 1.35 lakh customers expressed interest by registering their preferred configurations.
Test mules of the Sierra EV have been spotted multiple times on Indian roads confirming that Tata is deep into the validation phase ahead of launch. The electric version will largely retain the design language of the ICE model but will feature several EV-specific detailing. Up front, the grille gets a closed-off panel accompanied by a full-width LED daytime running light strip.

Split headlamps, a darkened bumper insert and a skid plate complement the SUV’s upright stance. It also boasts prominent shoulder lines, squared wheel arches and the signature window treatment. Flush door handles and sporty alloy wheels are also key highlights. At the rear, the Sierra EV is likely to get subtle EV badging, a boxy tailgate design, a connected LED light bar.
Inside the cabin, the Tats Sierra EV is expected to closely follow its combustion sibling’s layout. The triple-screen dashboard setup will be a centrepiece comprising a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a large touchscreen infotainment system and a dedicated passenger display. Premium materials, layered dashboard textures, ambient lighting and a panoramic glass roof are also likely.

From a mechanical standpoint, the Sierra EV will borrow heavily from the Harrier EV. Tata is expected to offer two battery pack options with the larger unit delivering a real-world driving range of over 500 km. DC fast charging and bi-directional charging capabilities are also likely to be part of the package.
