Mahindra has officially introduced the XUV 7XO for the Indian market carrying a starting price of Rs. 13.66 lakh (ex-showroom) and the introductory prices are valid only for the first 40,000 units. Bookings are already open both online and at dealerships for Rs. 21,000. While the model replaces the XUV 700 in spirit, the XUV 7XO presents a major change toward enhanced digitalisation, upgraded design philosophy and a more modern equipment list.

Starting with the cabin, the XUV 7XO introduces a layout never before seen in a combustion-powered Mahindra. A three-screen dashboard dominates the interior consisting of a fully digital driver display, a large central infotainment touchscreen and a separate screen for the front passenger. The dash and door panels have been redesigned, paired with a new brown-and-tan colour scheme, revised air vents and improved upholstery.

The SUV also offers a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, wireless phone charging, dual-zone automatic climate control and an electrically adjustable Boss Mode for the front passenger seat. Entertainment is handled by a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system with 1,400 W output and Dolby Atmos support, integrated into Mahindra’s latest Adrenox+ interface. The system also enables an in-car theatre mode with BYOD functionality allowing occupants to stream content via their personal devices.

The Mahindra XUV 7XO debuts a new 540-degree camera system that combines multiple camera views to provide enhanced situational awareness. It works alongside a refreshed Level 2 ADAS suite featuring adaptive cruise control, lane assist and automatic emergency braking – now supported by a clearer real-time visual display for driver assistance functions.

On the outside, the SUV gets design cues from Mahindra’s latest electric models – moving away from the familiar XUV700 look. The front end receives reworked LED daytime running lamps, projector headlamps and a revised grille with vertical chrome elements. Along the sides, new alloy wheel designs freshen the profile while the rear is marked by inverted L-shaped LED tail-lamps connected by a full-width light bar and a redesigned bumper.

Under the bonnet, Mahindra has chosen to retain proven powertrains. The XUV 7XO continues with the 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing around 200 hp and the 2.2-litre diesel engine delivering up to 185 hp. Both motors are offered with six-speed manual and six-speed torque converter automatic gearboxes. Select diesel variants also retain the all-wheel-drive option. Mahindra has additionally revised the suspension setup to improve ride comfort.
