The petrol variants of both Harrier and Safari are around Rs. 1 lakh more expensive than their diesel counterparts
Tata Motors has launched the petrol version of the Harrier and Safari SUVs in the Indian market. While the 5-seater Tata Harrier petrol is priced between Rs 12.89-24.69 lakh, Tata Safari petrol is presented in 6-seater as well as 7-seater configurations in price range of Rs 22.83-25.20 lakh and Rs 13.29-25.10 lakh, respectively.
The prices mentioned before are ex-showroom, New Delhi. Both the SUVs are powered by an all-new 1.5L HYPERION Turbo-GDi engine while claimed to deliver best-in-segment fuel efficiency. Tata Harrier petrol is available in a total of eight grades namely Smart, Pure X, Adventure X, Adventure X Plus, Fearless X, Fearless X Plus, Fearless Ultra, and Fearless Ultra Red #Dark.
On the other hand, Tata Safari petrol is rolled out in 10 trim levels namely Smart, Pure X, Adventure X Plus, Accomplished X, Accomplished X Plus, Accomplished X Plus 6S, Accomplished Ultra, Accomplished Ultra 6S, Accomplished Ultra Red #DARK and Accomplished Ultra Red #Dark 6S.

Both the SUVs come loaded with a plethora of advanced, upmarket and premium features in the form of 14.5-inch cinematic infotainment system powered by Samsung Neo QLED technology, Dolby Atmos, 10 Speaker JBL music system, Vision XE-IRVM with integrated Dual Dash Cam and DVR, Clear View Dual Camera Washer, Intelli-Start with Climate Sync, and VisionSync Memory ORVMs with auto reverse dip.

Both the petrol-powered SUVs remain unchanged in terms of design. The Harrier petrol is introduced in an all-new Premium Nitro Crimson color while the cabin is finished in a new dual-tone Oyster White and Titan Brown theme. Some of the notable elements in the Safari petrol version are 19-inch alloy wheels, signature LED DRLs and Carnelian Red and Black cabin upholstery.
Both the SUVs retain several features from their diesel counterparts in the form of Boss Mode, ventilated & powered front seats, ambient lighting, and a panoramic sunroof. As for the safety, Tata Harrier and Safari have received the highest 5-star safety rating from Bharat NCAP for all the variants powered by the Hyperion petrol engine.
The 1.5L Hyperion turbocharged petrol engine pumps out 168 bhp and 280 Nm in Harrier and Safari, which is nearly 10 bhp and 25 Nm more than what it produces in Sierra SUV. The engine is linked to a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard while an Aisin-sourced 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission is also on offer as an option. Tata Harrier petrol will directly rival MG Hector.
