The first quarter of the calendar year 2026 will witness the launch of multiple new products, giving an exciting start to the year. Some of the most-awaited models, including the new Duster and e Vitara, are scheduled to go on sale in the coming weeks. Apart from these, a few mid-life facelift models are also in the pipeline. In this article, we will look at the 7 new cars launching soon in India.

1. Maruti Suzuki e Vitara

Maruti Suzuki has already revealed the e Vitara in the Indian market, and the official launch is expected in the coming days. The home-grown carmaker’s first electric car will be available in three trim levels, i.e. Delta, Zeta and Alpha. It will feature two battery pack options, 49 kWh and 61 kWh, with an ARAI claimed range of up to 543 kilometres on a single charge. Based on the Heartect-e platform, the India-spec model only gets a front-wheel drive configuration, with power output rated at 172 bhp and 193 Nm of peak torque for the bigger 61 kWh battery pack option.

2. Renault Duster

The much-awaited Renault Duster is all set for a debut in the Indian market on January 26. Based on the CMF-B platform, the new-gen model is expected to be powered by a 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine, putting out 154 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque. The company is also evaluating a localised hybrid powertrain for the mid-size SUV. In terms of design, the Duster will largely resemble the international spec model, however, some India-specific changes are expected to be a part of the package.

3. Skoda Kushaq Facelift

The Skoda Kushaq facelift is due for a launch this month. The updated mid-size SUV will likely sport a revised front fascia, a new set of alloy wheels and a refreshed rear profile. Inside the cabin, we can expect minor changes to the layout, along with the addition of new features like a panoramic sunroof, 360-degree parking camera and Level 2 ADAS. Under the hood, the Skoda Kushaq facelift will continue to be powered by the familiar 1.0-litre TSI and 1.5-litre TSI petrol engines, available with both manual and automatic gearbox options.

4. Nissan Gravite MPV

Nissan will officially reveal the all-new Gravite in the Indian market on January 21. Based on the Renault Triber, the price of the compact 7-seater MPV will be announced in March 2026. It will be underpinned by the familiar CMF-A+ platform, however, there will be some considerable differences in terms of exterior design and interior layout, while maintaining the overall silhouette of the Triber. Under the hood, the Nissan Gravite will likely be powered by the familiar 1.0-litre NA petrol engine, putting out 76 hp and 95 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT gearbox.

5. Tata Punch Facelift

Tata Motors has already revealed the Punch facelift in full flesh. The brand’s best-selling model will get its first major refresh on January 13, featuring an updated exterior design with a new set of LED headlamps, sleek LED DRLs, a connected tail lamp setup, tweaked bumpers, and a new set of alloy wheels. Inside the cabin, the micro-SUV gets a new steering wheel, 10.25-inch infotainment system, 7-inch digital instrument cluster, touch-based AC control, 360-degree camera and more. Under the hood, the familiar 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine will continue to power the Punch facelift, along with the option of a new turbo petrol motor.

6. Volkswagen Tayron

Volkswagen recently teased its new flagship SUV, the Tayron, for the Indian market, confirming its launch in the first quarter of 2026. The 7-seater SUV will sit above the Tiguan R-Line in the brand’s line-up and will only be offered in its sporty R-Line guise. Based on the familiar MQB EVO platform, the Tayron will be sold in India via the CKD route. It will be powered by the familiar 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine, putting out 201 bhp and 320 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox.

7. Toyota Urban Cruiser EV

Toyota is all set to launch its first electric car in the Indian market in the form of the Urban Cruiser EV. Scheduled for a launch on January 19, the electric SUV will be based on the e Vitara, which is expected to launch around the same timeline. Under the hood, the Urban Cruiser EV will pack the familiar 48.8 kWh and 61.1 kWh battery pack options seen on the e Vitara with a claimed range of up to 500 kilometres on a single charge. Once launched, the Toyota’s electric SUV will rival the likes of Hyundai Creta EV, Tata Curvv EV, MG Windsor EV, Maruti e Vitara and Mahindra BE 6 in the Indian market.
