Customers can pre-book the new Renault Duster via an R Pass priced at Rs. 21,000; prices set to be announced in mid-March
Renault has officially pulled the covers off the new-generation Duster in India, reintroducing a nameplate that once shaped the midsize SUV segment. Unveiled in Chennai, the comeback represents Renault’s reset strategy for India under its International Game Plan 2027. The launch itself reflected the emotional weight the Duster still carries, drawing over 15,000 enthusiasts and long-time owners, including members of the Gang of Dusters community, to Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.
At the core of the new Duster is the Renault Group Modular Platform (RGMP), a flexible architecture developed with Indian usage conditions at the centre of the brief. Nearly 90 per cent of the vehicle’s components have been designed specifically for India, with validation spanning extreme temperatures from –23°C to 55°C, high-altitude testing up to 18,379 feet, and endurance cycles exceeding one million kilometres. The platform has been engineered for five-star safety standards and supports multiple powertrains, advanced electronics and Google-based infotainment systems.
Renault is offering the Duster with three distinct powertrain options. The Turbo TCe 100 serves as the accessible entry point, paired with a six-speed manual transmission. Above it sits the Turbo TCe 160, producing 163 PS and 280 Nm, available with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed wet-clutch DCT designed for Indian traffic conditions. Making its Indian debut is the Strong Hybrid E-Tech 160, combining a 1.8-litre petrol engine with a 1.4 kWh battery, enabling up to 80 per cent electric-only driving in city use while remaining the most powerful and efficient hybrid setup in the segment.

True to its reputation, capability remains a defining trait. The new Duster offers 212 mm of ground clearance, approach and departure angles of 26.9° and 34.7° respectively, and rides on 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. Measuring 4,346 mm in length with a 2,657 mm wheelbase, it balances urban usability with off-road confidence. Design elements such as the trapezoidal grille, full-LED headlamps and tail lamps, horizontal rear light bar, protective cladding and yellow-accented Duster badging reinforce its rugged yet modern stance.
Inside, Renault has taken a driver-first approach. The cabin adopts a fighter-jet-inspired layout with a raised centre console, electronic shifter and physical buttons for frequently used controls. Upholstery finished in Mountain Jade leatherette with yellow stitching, carbon-finish dashboard inserts and metallic accents elevate the sense of quality. Comfort features include ventilated, six-way power-adjustable front seats with manual lumbar support, dual-zone automatic climate control, panoramic electric sunroof, electric parking brake with auto-hold and an electric tailgate.

Technology is anchored by a 10.1-inch OpenR Link touchscreen with Google built-in—offering native Google Maps, Assistant, Play Store access and over 100 compatible apps—paired with a 10.25-inch digital driver display with map replication. More than 60 connected features are supported through Renault’s MYR app, while 17 ADAS functions, hill descent control and 35 standard safety features reinforce its safety credentials. Multi-sense drive modes—Eco, Comfort and Perso—allow drivers to customise engine response, steering feel and ambient lighting, with preferences stored via Google profiles for seamless recall.
Renault is backing the Duster with a warranty of up to seven years or 1,50,000 km under the Renault Forever programme, underscoring its push for long-term ownership confidence. Customers can pre-book the SUV via an R Pass priced at Rs. 21,000, with prices set to be announced in mid-March. Petrol variants will begin deliveries in April 2026 while the Strong Hybrid E-Tech 160 will follow during Diwali 2026.
