Volkswagen has confirmed to bring in 5 new cars in 2026 across different segments and here is a detailed look at them
Volkswagen India is planning to introduce a host of new models over the next few years. The list includes locally produced models as well as full imports. Here we have brought you a rundown of the upcoming models this CY:
1. Volkswagen Tayron R-Line:

Confirmed to go on sale this quarter, the local assembly of the Tayron R-Line has already commenced in India and it will be powered by a 2.0L turbo petrol engine hooked with a seven-speed DSG sending power to all four wheels as standard. Based on the latest generation global Tiguan, the Taigun R-Line is a more premium and practical seven-seater that will sit at the top of the range.
2. Volkswagen Taigun Facelift:

Following the recent launch of the facelifted Kushaq, the updated version of the VW Taigun is just around the corner with cosmetic enhancements and a more upmarket cabin. We can expect the equipment list to mirror that of the latest Kushaq and thus ADAS and a 360-degree camera system could be omitted. No mechanical changes barring a new automatic transmission are likely as it will continue with 1.0L turbo petrol and 1.5L turbo petrol engines.

Thus, a larger touchscreen with improved connectivity and UI, more premium surface trims and materials and an eight-speed automatic gearbox are of high possibilities.
4. Volkswagen Golf GTI:

The initial Golf GTI sold out in no time in India and riding on the wave of momentum, the German auto major will bring in a new lot later this year in limited quantity as a fully import. It will use a 2.0L turbo four-cylinder petrol engine delivering 265 PS maximum power and 370 Nm of torque. Paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch AT and paddle shifters, the setup allows it to do 0 to 100 kmph in just 5.9 seconds.
