Nissan Gravite is built on the heavily localised CMF-A modular platform; will be powered by a 1.0L NA and turbo petrol mill
Nissan India has confirmed that the Gravite compact MPV will be officially launched in the country on February 17. It was supposed to be introduced last month but it did not turn out to be the case. The upcoming MPV will look to strengthen Nissan’s presence in the affordable three-row segment and will play a big role in the company’s renewed India product strategy.
Production of the Nissan Gravite will take place at Renault-Nissan’s Chennai manufacturing facility which will also serve as an export hub for global markets. Although the model was earlier slated for an unveiling in January, the timeline has been revised with retail operations and customer deliveries expected to commence by March or April 2026.
Built on the heavily localised CMF-A modular platform, the Nissan Gravite shares its underpinnings with the Renault Triber. However, Nissan has opted for a differentiated design approach to give the MPV its own identity. The overall silhouette remains upright – in line with MPV expectations – while avoiding overlap with its Renault counterpart.

Ahead of the launch, Nissan recently released teaser visuals showcasing the exterior paint options. The Gravite will be available in five colour choices – headlined by a distinctive teal shade alongside white, silver, black and grey options. Styling highlights include horizontal LED daytime running lamps, slim headlamp housings and a broad grille finished with a chrome accent.
Sculpted bonnet lines and prominent Gravite branding at the front are other highlights. The rear features split LED tail lamps connected via a horizontal insert, paired with an upright tailgate, roof spoiler and layered bumper elements. Power will come from a 1.0-litre petrol engine – offered in naturally aspirated and turbocharged versions.

Transmission choices are expected to include manual and automatic options. On the inside, the Gravite will offer a three-row cabin with flexible seating configurations – prioritising space. While full interior details remain under wraps, expected features include a touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument display, steering-mounted controls and connected car technology. The Gravite forms part of Nissan’s new product offensive which also includes the upcoming Tekton C-segment SUV and a larger three-row SUV.
