6 New Electric SUVs Confirmed To Launch In 2026 In India

Here we have listed the 6 new electric SUVs that will launch in India this year from Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Mahindra, Tata and Toyota

The electric SUV segment will witness plenty of action this calendar year and over the last few months, we have already seen flurry of activity in this space. Brands like Maruti Suzuki and Toyota are set to enter the zero-emission segment soon while other brands are also preparing to step up competition and here we have explained them:

1. Tata Punch EV Facelift:

Following the recent launch of the updated Punch ICE, the facelifted Punch EV will arrive in the coming months bringing updated exterior and interior design cues. Besides cosmetic tweaks, a larger touchscreen, improved tech features and enhanced connectivity could be available while a bigger battery pack with enhanced driving range cannot be ruled out.

2. Maruti Suzuki e Vitara:

The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara is set to debut in India soon as the brand’s first all-electric SUV built on a dedicated Heartect-e platform with two battery choices – a 49 kWh unit and a larger 61 kWh pack with a claimed range of 543 km between charges. It features Level 2 ADAS, multiple airbags, 360-degree cameras, ESC and high-strength steel structure, and has already earned a 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating. Its production has already begun in Gujarat and expect the starting price to hover around Rs. 17 lakh (ex-showroom).

3. Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella:

The Urban Cruiser Ebella is closely related to the e Vitara and it will share battery options with its sibling as well while performance and driving range will be similar too. It will also be loaded with features and get a slightly different exterior compared to the e Vitara. It will get an eight-year battery warranty and assured buyback scheme, and deliveries are set to commence within a couple of months.

4. Hyundai Compact EV:

Late last year, Hyundai confirmed plans to introduce a compact electric SUV in India and it will be locally produced at its Sriperumbudur plant in Tamil Nadu. Expected to be based on the global Inster EV and built on the E-GMP (K) platform, it will compete directly with rivals like the Tata Punch EV and will boast features such as a Level 2 ADAS suite. It will go on sale towards the end of 2026 or in 2027.

5. Mahindra BE6 Rall-E:

The Mahindra BE6 Rall-E is an off-road based variant of the BE6 and it could hit showrooms in H2 2026. Underpinned by the INGLO platform, the Rall-E features tougher styling cues with chunky cladding, round projector lamps, roof-mounted accessories, bigger wheels and so on.The Rall-E will likely use a single-motor, RWD and dual-motor all-wheel-drive layout with the real-world range going over 500 km in select trims.

6. Tata Avinya EV:

The Tata Avinya will become the flagship electric vehicle range upon arrival by the end of 2026. It will be built on Tata’s all-new Gen 3 skateboard-style EV platform derived from JLR’s EMA. A sport back could be the first model to arrive to take on premium EVs like Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6 with a minimalist and lounge-like interior featuring sustainable materials and advanced tech.
