New Tata Sierra commands a waiting period of up to 4 months depending on the trim and transmission chosen currently
The Tata Sierra has commenced its second innings with an overwhelming response and that enthusiasm has been translating into extended waiting periods across most variants. The new Sierra currently commands a waiting period ranging from three to four months – depending on the chosen powertrain, transmission and trim.
Automatic variants attract a longer queue than manual versions while diesel models take slightly longer to deliver compared to petrol options. Transmission choice plays a big role in delivery timelines. Automatic variants typically require an additional 15–30 days of waiting over their manual counterparts due to higher demand and limited initial production.
Among colour options, Munnar Mist has emerged as the most sought-after shade – resulting in the longest waiting period. Tata Motors has confirmed that production is being ramped up gradually to align supply with demand. The strong waiting period situation is backed by huge booking numbers. The Sierra secured over 70,000 confirmed bookings within the first 24 hours of reservation commencement.

Tata also revealed that another 1.35 lakh prospective buyers had already configured the SUV online. Deliveries officially began from January 15, 2026. Positioned above the Curvv in Tata’s SUV lineup, the Sierra was introduced in late November 2025 and is priced between Rs. 11.49 lakh and Rs. 21.49 lakh (ex-showroom). It is offered in Smart+, Pure, Pure+, Adventure, Adventure+, Accomplished and Accomplished+ trims.
Under the hood, the Sierra offers three engine choices. The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol produces 106 PS and 145 Nm while the new 1.5-litre turbo petrol delivers 160 PS and 255 Nm. A 1.5-litre diesel engine rounds off the lineup with 120 PS and up to 280 Nm of torque. Transmission options include a six-speed manual, torque converter automatic and dual-clutch automatic unit.

Built on Tata’s new ARGOS architecture, the Sierra combines retro-inspired design cues with an upright stance, expansive glasshouse and signature silhouette paying homage to the original. The Sierra features a three-screen dashboard layout consisting of a digital instrument cluster, central touchscreen and a passenger display. Other highlights include a JBL audio system with a dash-mounted soundbar, panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, powered tailgate and Level 2 ADAS.
