MG Majestor will go on sale on February 12 in India and it will be packed with features and technologies to go up against Toyota Fortuner and the likes
MG Motor India is looking to make its boldest move yet in the premium SUV space with the Majestor – a new full-size model that will sit above the Gloster and announce the brand’s entry into a higher D+ SUV category. Slated for its official launch on February 12, 2026, the Majestor will be positioned as a direct challenger to the Toyota Fortuner – both in terms of size and capability.
At the heart of the Majestor will be MG’s 2.0-litre four-cylinder twin turbo diesel engine – churning out 213 bhp and 478 Nm of torque. Power is expected to be channelled through an automatic gearbox with a selectable four-wheel-drive system to be offered to complement its go-anywhere intent although MG is yet to officially confirm the drivetrain layout.
MG has also begun teasing the Majestor’s off-road credentials – confirming dedicated terrain modes such as Rock, Sand and Snow. These will be paired with chunky 265/65 R19 Apollo Apterra HT tyres mounted on large 19-inch two-tone alloy wheels. Recent teasers also show the SUV tackling challenging terrain at Mount Japfu in Nagaland.

The Majestor is based on the global Maxus D90’s body-on-frame platform but gets a far more commanding visual presence than the Gloster. The SUV features a muscular grille with darker elements, split headlamp setup with sharp LED DRLs, upright proportions and extensive use of skid plates and cladding. The side profile is expected to emphasise its sheer size while the rear sports LED tail lamps, prominent Majestor badging and large exhaust outlets.
On the inside, the MG Majestor gains a large touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster, connected car features, panoramic sunroof and a premium audio setup. The equipment list further comprises powered and ventilated seats, three-zone automatic climate control and a comprehensive safety package featuring Level 2 ADAS and a 360-degree camera system.

With expected pricing in the Rs. 40–45 lakh range, the MG Majestor may make a huge impact against the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq and soon-launching VW Tayron.
