Four new electric SUVs are coming to the Indian showrooms by March from Maruti Suzuki, Tata and Toyota, all expected to be priced competitively.

1. New Tata Punch.ev (facelift)

Launched just two years ago in January 2024, the Tata Punch.ev has received a facelift. The new model, scheduled to go on sale on 20 February, features a reworked front-end that looks more aerodynamic and elegant. There’s a new front mask with a cleaner design, a new housing for the low- and high-beam lights, and a new grille with a concave shape.

2. Tata Sierra.ev

The Tata Sierra.ev, as indicated by its name, is the pure electric variant of the all-new Tata Sierra. It will feature a unique front-end with a fully covered, body-coloured panel in place of the ICE donor’s Sierra-branded gloss black grille, a gloss black lower front fascia instead of a body-coloured one, and a cleaner-looking DRL strip.

Tata Motors will likely offer the Sierra.ev in a single-motor RWD variant and a dual-motor AWD variant, both with an independent rear suspension. The company will unveil it in March and likely launch it the same month.

3. Maruti e-Vitara

The Maruti e-Vitara, the company’s first EV, will be one of its most advanced models to date. The company will launch it in 142 hp/192.5 Nm and 172 hp/192.5 Nm FWD variants. The former will have a 49 kWh LFP battery pack expected to deliver a range of 440 kilometres, and the latter will have a 61 kWh battery pack confirmed to deliver a range of 543 kilometres.

4. Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella

The Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella is simply a redesigned version of the Maruti e-Vitara. It has a more elegant front-end with a Hammerhead Shark-inspired design, in line with many of Toyota’s other latest global models. It features curvy headlamps, a sleek gloss black panel between the headlamps, and a different front bumper in a cleaner design and a larger body-coloured surface. The rest of the design, including the interior, is mostly the same.
