Jawa 42 Ivory sits at the top of the range and is equipped with the familiar 294 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder J-Panther engine
Priced at Rs. 1,84,950 (ex-showroom New Delhi), the Ivory-finished version of the Jawa 42 motorcycle has officially joined the Indian range. The soft pastel tone mirrors a movement toward calmer and minimalist shades. Underneath its vintage-inspired appearance sits a 294 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder J-Panther engine.
It is good enough to produce a maximum power output of 27.32 PS and 26.84 Nm of peak torque. The powertrain is hooked with a six-speed transmission while a slipper and assist clutch is also provided. Design cues pay tribute to classic track machines especially racers from the golden era of the Isle of Man TT. Retro-style decals, a chequered graphic on the sculpted fuel tank and an asymmetrical instrument cluster are also available.
The model name carries a deeper cultural reference as well. The number draws inspiration from The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams where it symbolises an enigmatic answer to life’s biggest mystery. The brand associates this idea with riders who value curiosity, individuality and a refusal to follow conventions.

As for the cosmetics, the motorcycle comes with contrasting “42” graphics on body panels and the headlamp nacelle, stylised lettering along the tank and tail, and the signature tear-drop fuel tank shape. These finishes complement the pale Ivory finish which remains subtle but distinctive. The 42 sits on a double cradle frame and boasts nearly 184 kg kerb weight.
It measures a length of 2,071 mm, a width of 833 mm and a height of 1,065 mm along with a wheelbase length of 1,369 mm and ground clearance of 165 mm. The seat height stands at 788 mm while the fuel tank can hold 13.2 litres. It is equipped with telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear.
The braking duties are handled by 280 mm front disc and a 240 mm rear disc supported by a dual-channel ABS system. Buyers also receive an extensive support package: a standard four-year/50,000-km warranty, optional coverage extensions up to six years, roadside assistance for as long as eight years and maintenance plans lasting up to five years. The motorcycle is now available through more than 450 authorised dealerships nationwide.
