2026 Tata Tiago EV is expected to get minor cosmetic updates while a larger battery pack could be utilised with improved range
New spy pictures suggest that a thoroughly updated version of the Tata Tiago EV is in the works and the changes appear far more extensive than we initially thought. Although the test car remains partially concealed, several visible elements point toward a significant design overhaul while the cabin is also expected to become more premium.
The front fascia appears to have gained revised LED lighting units along with a pair of sleek-looking LED Daytime Running Lights. The nose section has also been reshaped hinting at a redesigned upper panel and a more sculpted bumper layout. From the side, the door mirrors appear bulkier than before which often shows the integration of surround-view camera hardware.
The alloy wheels are completely wrapped as aero-styled wheels could be incorporated. A particularly interesting observation is the raised section along the roofline indicating a factory-fitted electric sunroof. Changes are likely at the rear as well as the lighting cluster could receive a new pattern and the bumper could be redesigned.
On the inside, expect improvements in material quality and surface finishes while features such as wireless smartphone charging and expanded connected vehicle functions could be introduced. The infotainment system may grow in size accompanied by a fully digital instrument display. A redesigned steering wheel in line with Tata’s latest models could make an appearance.
Mechanical updates remain speculative at this stage. The existing version of the Tata Tiago EV is offered with 19.2 kWh and 24 kWh battery packs – delivering real-world ranges of 168 km and 205 km respectively. We expect the 30 kWh unit found in the recently updated Punch EV to be introduced and it enables over 265 km real-world range in the micro SUV.
The arrival of the Punch EV has created a certain competition within the brand’s EV portfolio in the bottom end and the new Tiago EV could help garner more volume sales with improved range capabilities and a more premium features list. We expect a market launch to happen before the end of this year and Tata already has the Sierra EV and Avinya lined up for 2026.
