Maruti Suzuki Brezza has consistently remained among India top 10 best-selling passenger vehicles over the years
Maruti Suzuki India Limited is celebrating a significant milestone as the Brezza completes a decade of presence in the domestic market. Introduced in 2016, the compact SUV has grown alongside the segment and played a main part in shaping it into one of the largest categories in the country. Currently, compact SUVs account for 31 per cent of the overall passenger vehicle industry.
Over the past ten years, the Maruti Suzuki Brezza has consistently remained among India top 10 best-selling passenger vehicles. Its sustained popularity has contributed to the steady expansion of the compact SUV segment to its current 31 per cent market share. The nameplate now commands a notable brand equity with studies indicating that 56 per cent of buyers consider it their “predetermined choice” when entering the segment.
The model made an immediate impact at launch – collecting more than 28 major automotive awards in its first year including the prestigious Indian Car of the Year 2017 recognition. Across two generations, it has evolved into a technologically advanced and feature-rich SUV offering. The five-seater is powered by a 1.5-litre K15C DualJet petrol engine that delivers 103 PS of power and 137 Nm of torque.

Buyers can opt for either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed torque converter automatic with paddle shifters. The powertrain is complemented by Smart Hybrid technology to enhance fuel efficiency and a factory-fitted CNG variant is also available – offering a claimed mileage of up to 25.51 km per kg.
In terms of dimensions, the SUV measures 3995 mm in length, 1790 mm in width and 1685 mm in height with a 2500 mm wheelbase. Other highlights are a ground clearance of 198 mm and a 328-litre boot. The interior features a 9-inch SmartPlay Pro Plus touchscreen infotainment system, a 360-degree camera and a segment-first Heads-Up Display.

Safety equipment includes up to six airbags, Electronic Stability Program and Hill Hold Assist as standard. The largest carmaker in the country is presently working on a mid-cycle update for the Brezza with mild cosmetic changes, underbody CNG tank positioning and a six-speed MT.
Commenting on the new milestone, Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, “The Brezza story is one that has empowered the SUV era in India. Conceptualised, designed and developed with new-age customer aspirations, the Brezza’s authentic SUV DNA and feature-loaded cabin have constantly redefined customer expectations with each new model launch.”
