Fifth-generation Hyundai Verna and first-ever Hyundai Exter to get their mid-life facelift in India in the coming months
Hyundai is expected to launch four new cars this year, and the first two of them will be facelifted versions of the Verna and Exter. Recently, the new Verna and new Exter were spied while being tested together on a public road in India. Here’s everything we know about the upcoming Hyundai models so far.
The new Hyundai Verna will be the South Korean automaker’s first launch in India this year. The current model was launched in March 2023, and its updated version is likely to be introduced in April. Spy shots suggest that Hyundai isn’t planning a major character change for the VW Virtus rival, but rather mild cosmetic revisions, ensuring it keeps costs in check.
The facelift will likely bring a Sonata-inspired design for the front bumper and grille, leading to a sportier appearance. Hyundai may tweak the design of the split headlamps and improve the quality of the LEDs it uses in the DRLs. Minor visual changes are expected in the rear bumper and tail lights as well. The company may introduce new wheel designs and colour options as well.

Inside, the new Verna should feature a redesigned dashboard with a new curved panel in the cockpit area to integrate larger, 12.3-inch driver information and infotainment system displays. The instrument cluster will be a fully digital unit and may offer multiple layouts. Unlike the current model’s infotainment system, the new one’s unit will support wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto. No mechanical changes are expected in the new Verna.
The Exter, first launched in July 2023, will likely get its mid-life update in early Q3 2026. The facelifted Exter will likely feature restyled bumpers, tweaked headlamps, and new 15-inch alloy wheels. Inside, Hyundai could introduce new features such as ventilated front seats, a new infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, and a rear USB Type-C charging port.

Hyundai may improve the safety of the Exter with new features such as a 360º camera system and an auto-dimming IRVM. The company is unlikely to roll out any changes to the car’s engines or transmissions with the facelift.
