2026 Hyundai Verna comes with a host of updates inside and out and it continues to rival Honda City, Skoda Slavia and VW Virtus
Hyundai Motor India Limited has officially launched the updated Hyundai Verna in India with prices starting at Rs. 10.98 lakh (ex-showroom). The new midsize sedan arrives with over 25 enhancements and in terms of design, the new Hyundai Verna receives a more commanding presence courtesy of a host of revisions involved.
Key updates include a black chrome radiator grille, dual LED projector headlamps, redesigned front and rear bumpers and a set of new 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. The sedan continues to offer impressive proportions with 4,565 mm length, 1,765 mm width and a 2,670 mm wheelbase – making it one of the widest sedans in the segment while enabling generous cabin space for occupants inside.
The Korean auto major has introduced several premium upgrades as well inside the cabin. The new Verna now features a D-cut steering wheel, leatherette seat upholstery, driver seat with 8-way electric adjustment and memory function and 4-way electric adjustment for the front passenger seat. Segment-first features such as a rear window sunshade, passenger seat electric walk-in device and smart trunk with a 528-litre boot are available.

The sedan features the largest display setup in its segment consisting of dual 10.25-inch integrated screens for the infotainment system and digital instrument cluster. Additional tech features include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a wireless phone charger, ventilated front seats, electric sunroof, and Hyundai Bluelink connected car technology with over 70 connected features and 350+ voice commands.

Hyundai has also added several segment-first features in the updated model. These include a Bose premium 8-speaker sound system, switchable infotainment and climate control interface, surround view monitor and blind spot view monitor. Under the hood though, the sedan continues with two petrol engine options.
The 1.5-litre MPi petrol engine is offered with a 6-speed manual transmission or IVT automatic while the more powerful 1.5-litre Turbo GDi petrol engine is available with a 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The turbo engine produces 160 PS and 253 Nm – making it one of the most powerful engines in the midsize sedan segment.
Safety bits have also been significantly enhanced in the new Hyundai Verna with more than 75 advanced safety features and 35 standard safety technologies. The sedan now offers Hyundai SmartSense Level 2 ADAS with 20 features, seven airbags including a centre airbag and segment-first additions such as an integrated dashcam and surround view monitor.
