2026 Audi SQ8 is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 TFSI petrol engine that produces 507 hp and 770 Nm of torque
Bookings for the performance-focused Audi SQ8 have officially commenced in India ahead of its scheduled debut on March 17, 2026. Audi has confirmed that customers can reserve the luxury SUV online through the brand’s official website or the myAudi Connect App. Prospective buyers can secure their booking by paying an initial amount of Rs. 5,00,000.
With the reservation window now open, the company is preparing to introduce the high-performance SUV in the domestic market on March 17, 2026. The model will join Audi’s growing performance lineup and is expected to attract enthusiasts looking for a powerful yet practical luxury SUV. Under the hoof, the SQ8 is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 TFSI petrol engine that produces 507 hp and 770 Nm of torque.
The powertrain is equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission and the brand’s well-known Audi Quattro all-wheel-drive system – allowing the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 4.1 seconds. Meanwhile, its top speed is electronically limited to 250 kmph. Performance-oriented hardware is also a major part of the package.

For instance, adaptive air suspension sport comes as standard – enabling the SUV to adjust ride height and damping based on driving conditions. The system helps maintain a balance between ride comfort and sharper dynamics during spirited driving. The inclusion of all-wheel steering further improves handling characteristics. At lower speeds, the rear wheels turn slightly opposite to the front wheels – reducing the turning circle and making the large SUV easier to manoeuvre in tight spaces.
At higher speeds, the rear wheels steer in the same direction as the front wheels to improve stability during quick lane changes or high-speed cornering. On the outside, the Audi SQ8 carries several S-specific styling cues that differentiate it from the regular Q8. The front end features a matte silver Singleframe grille along with large alloy wheels. At the rear, the SUV gets a quad-exhaust layout and a full-width LED light bar connecting the tail lamps.

Lighting technology also includes HD Matrix LED headlights with laser light and digital OLED rear lights that allow multiple lighting signatures. The dashboard is dominated by a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster along with Audi’s dual-touchscreen MMI interface consisting of 10.1-inch and 8.6-inch displays. The S sport seats finished in Valcona leather with diamond stitching are offered with heating, ventilation and massage functions for the front occupants.
The rear seats follow a 40:20:40 split configuration allowing the luggage space to expand up to 1,755 litres when folded. Commenting on the booking announcement, Balbir Singh Dhillon, Brand Director, Audi India, said,
“The Audi SQ8 represents the ideal meeting point between everyday luxury and uncompromising sporty performance. Its formidable engine and distinctive S character make it a remarkably complete SUV. The enthusiasm we have seen for our Audi Q8 family in India gives us great confidence that the new Audi SQ8 will resonate strongly with our customers who seek more than a conventional luxury SUV.”
