Kia is preparing to expand its electric vehicle portfolio in India with the launch of two new mass-market EVs. Meanwhile, Hyundai will also introduce the next-generation model of its popular compact SUV Venue. In this article, we will look at the upcoming Hyundai and Kia cars in India.
1. Kia Carens Clavis EV

Scheduled for a launch on July 15, Kia has already revealed the Carens Clavis EV in the Indian market. The claimed range of 490 kilometres on a single charge has been confirmed, and it will also get the i-Pedal driving technology. The design is quite familiar to its ICE counterpart with some EV-specific touches, including aero-efficient wheels, redesigned bumpers, new LED fog lamps and more. The Carens Clavis EV will likely be offered in two battery pack options, and the electric motor can be shared with the Creta EV.

2. New-Gen Hyundai Venue

Hyundai is currently road testing the second-generation Venue for the Indian market, and it will likely go on sale around the festive season this year. The new Venue will get an all-new exterior design, and going by the spy shots, the front fascia will be inspired by the Creta. The interior will also be heavily revised with new features like Level 2 ADAS, 360-degree camera, panoramic sunroof and more. Under the hood, the second generation of the compact SUV will continue to be powered by the familiar 1.2-litre petrol, 1.0-litre tGDi petrol and 1.5-litre CRDi diesel engines.
3. Kia Syros EV

Kia has confirmed the Syros EV for the Indian market and it is expected to debut by the end of this year or early 2026. The all-electric Syros is expected to feature revised bumpers, new aero-efficient alloy wheels and some EV-specific branding inside out. While the battery pack details are under wraps, the EV is likely to come with a claimed range of around 400 kilometres on a single charge. Once launched, the Kia Syros EV will rival the likes of the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400 EV.

4. New-Gen Kia Seltos

The Seltos has been a popular name in the mid-size SUV segment and the second generation will make its global debut by the end of 2025. Expected to arrive in India sometime next year, the new-gen Seltos will feature comprehensive updates inside out. Internally codenamed SP3i, the Korean carmaker will introduce a strong-hybrid powertrain with the new Seltos, along with the familiar petrol and diesel engine options. The hybrid Seltos is expected to use the familiar 1.5-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with the strong hybrid setup.
5. Hyundai Inster-Based EV

Expected to debut in the second half of 2026, a new sub-compact electric SUV from Hyundai is on the cards for the Indian market. Internally codenamed HE1i, the Tata Punch EV rivalling car will be based on the Inster EV, which is already on sale in the international market. The second mainstream Hyundai EV will target the affordable end of the spectrum. It will be based on the born-electric E-GMP (K) platform, which will be shared by multiple small Hyundai and Kia EVs globally.
