Maruti Suzuki is expected to bring in as many as five new SUVs over the next couple of years in India and here we have listed them
Maruti Suzuki seems to be gearing up for a steady stream of new launches over the coming two years with a significant share of that attention directed toward strengthening its SUV portfolio. The segment continues to hold strategic importance for the carmaker in India and multiple projects are reportedly underway.
1. Maruti Suzuki e Vitara:
Maruti Suzuki’s first fully electric model is nearing launch as the e Vitara is set to arrive by September 2025. Built on the dedicated Heartect e platform, the SUV will feature two battery options, fast-charging compatibility Level 2 ADAS and a claimed range of over 500 kilometres per charge. The vehicle will be retailed through Nexa dealerships.
2. Maruti Suzuki Escudo:
Maruti Suzuki is working on a new SUV that will be slotted beneath the Grand Vitara in the brand’s lineup. Despite its lower placement, early prototypes suggest the newcomer might slightly exceed the Grand Vitara in length. Powertrain options at launch are expected to mirror those already seen in the Grand Vitara and it will be sold through Arena outlets.

3. 7-Seater Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara:
Maruti Suzuki is said to be considering a three-row iteration of the Grand Vitara for the near future. If it arrives, the longer variant would position itself against larger offerings such as the Tata Safari and Mahindra XUV700.
4. Maruti Suzuki Micro SUV:
Maruti Suzuki is reportedly developing a new micro SUV for the Indian market. Positioned below its existing SUV lineup, the upcoming model is expected to debut sometime in late 2026 or early 2027. Once launched, it will compete directly with the Hyundai Exter and Tata Punch.

5. Maruti Suzuki Fronx Hybrid:
Recent test sightings point toward the possibility of an electrified setup making its way to the Fronx – likely borrowing from the Smart Hybrid configuration currently fitted to export-spec versions of the Dzire. If this development materialises, the Fronx range could soon see the addition of a more fuel-conscious option. It will have to be wait and seen whether ADAS will be added or not as in the international model.
