Maruti Suzuki Baleno & Ertiga Now Get 6 Airbags As Standard

GaadiWaadi –

With the latest update, all variants of the Ertiga and Baleno will feature six airbags as standard; To command a minor price increment

Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) committed to standardising 6 airbags across its entire line-up earlier this year. In line with this, the home-grown carmaker has already updated models like Alto K10, Celerio, Wagon R and Eeco with 6 airbags right from the entry-level variant. The latest models to join this bandwagon are the Baleno and Ertiga.

The best-selling cars in their respective segments will now feature enhanced safety with the addition of 6 airbags as standard. Earlier, only the top-spec variants of the Baleno, i.e. Zeta and Alpha, offered 6 airbags. This update brings the safety feature enhancement to the entry-level Sigma and mid-spec Delta trims.

The company has also confirmed a minor price hike, which will be around 0.5% in the case of Baleno. Apart from this, the premium hatchback gets standard safety equipment such as ESP, hill hold assist, 3-point seat belt with reminders for all passengers and brake assist.

The safety update of standard 6 airbags for Ertiga and Baleno is effective from July 16, 2025.

The Maruti Suzuki Baleno was recently crash tested by Bharat NCAP, and it scored 4 stars for the variants with 6 airbags, which will now be applicable for the entire line-up. On the other hand, the Ertiga is yet to be tested by Bharat NCAP, however, it scored only a 1-star safety rating in the Global NCAP crash test assessment conducted in 2024, which tested the South African spec model manufactured in India.
