Available to all existing F77 owners at no cost, the firmware enables ‘Ballistic+’ ride mode with improved performance

Ultraviolette has introduced latest firmware update for the F77 which the brand calls the Gen3 Powertrain Firmware. The upgrade introduces ‘Ballistic+’ – a sharper and more immediate performance setting that leans into initial acceleration with noticeably increased urgency. Available to all existing F77 owners at no cost, the firmware has been made backward compatible.

Rooted in over 8 million kilometres of real-world riding analysis, the Gen3 firmware has emerged not from a lab alone but from the constantly expanding dataset collected through Violette A.I. The connected system works off the F77’s Vehicle Control Unit (VCU), processing more than 3,000 data points every second.

By interpreting rider inputs and environmental conditions, the system continuously monitors how the bike responds in dynamic use. According to Ultraviolette, the core of the update lies in the re-tuning of components across the control and drive systems. Adjustments at the motor, motor controller and vehicle intelligence levels were engineered to unlock more from the existing hardware.

The outcome is a firmware upgrade that is more than just merely altering ride modes. The Ballistic+ performance layer arrives following the earlier rollout of MACH 2 in 2024 which placed emphasis on improving the safety and assistive technology suite.

That phase had brought features such as multi-level regenerative braking, hill-hold assist, traction control and UVDSC (Ultraviolette Dynamic Stability Control) – aimed to offer better rider engagement in varying terrain and road conditions. What distinguishes Ballistic+ is how intelligently the extra performance is managed.

Rather than brute output, the firmware leverages Violette A.I. to ensure that the added power remains usable, especially in edge-case scenarios. The intelligence architecture observes rider behaviour globally, adapting to patterns in throttle use, braking, cornering loads and more.

Earlier this year, Ultraviolette launched the F77 SuperStreet which uses a large 10.3 kWh battery pack. It is claimed capable of doing 0 to 60 kmph in just 2.8 seconds and boasts a top speed of 155 kmph. The F77 SuperStreet is sold in two variants – Standard and Recon.
