Honda Shine 100 DX gets a host of cosmetic enhancements, larger fuel tank and a digital LCD instrument cluster compared to the regular variant
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has completed 25 years of operations in the country and to mark the occasion, the company has introduced two new motorcycles. The CB125 Hornet and the Shine 100 DX have both been unveiled as part of the anniversary announcement. Reservations for both models will open officially on the 1st of August, 2025 ahead of deliveries.
The new Shine 100 DX builds on the familiar formula that has kept the ‘Shine’ nameplate relevant but the latest version attempts to give it a new identity. The styling now leans more towards a premium commuter look with a new headlamp design and a dash of chrome across the housing. The bodywork carries subtle sculpting around the wide fuel tank which prominently displays the Honda logo.
Additional highlights come from a matte finished grab rail and an all-black engine casing – contrasted by a chrome finished muffler cover. Graphics on the body panels offer some visual lift while the long seat is built to accommodate daily ride comfort for both rider and pillion according to the brand. The Shine 100 DX now offers a digital LCD instrument cluster.

The instrumentation screen displays real-time mileage, estimated range (distance to empty) and a service due alert. Safety additions include a side-stand engine cut-off system. Power comes from the familiar 98.98 cc single-cylinder engine that uses fuel injection and complies with OBD2B norms. It produces 7.3 hp of maximum power at 7,500 rpm and a peak torque of 8.04 Nm at 5,000 rpm. The engine is linked with a four-speed transmission and benefits from Honda’s eSP system.
It is said to reduce internal friction and optimise combustion, thereby improving both performance and fuel efficiency. The Shine 100 DX uses a diamond-type chassis and features telescopic forks at the front and 5-step adjustable twin shock absorbers at the rear. Drum brakes are fitted at both ends – 130 mm at the front and 110 mm at the rear – with Honda’s Combined Braking System helping to improve stopping power.

The commuter motorcycle rides on 17-inch tubeless tyres and offers 168 mm of ground clearance with a kerb weight of 103 kg. The seat stands 786 mm off the ground and measures 677 mm in length while the wheelbase extends to 1,245 mm and the fuel tank can hold 10 litres. The total length, width and height of the motorcycle come in at 1,955 mm, 754 mm and 1,050 mm respectively.
The motorcycle is offered in four paint options – Pearl Igneous Black, Imperial Red Metallic, Athletic Blue Metallic and Geny Gray Metallic. Lighting duties are handled by a DC halogen headlamp while the electrical system uses a 12V, 3Ah battery. The Shine 100 DX comes on the back of good reception for the Shine 100 series since its market launch as over 3 lakh units were sold in just 12 months. The DX will sit at the top of the range and could carry a price of around Rs. 76,000 (ex-showroom).
