The Kia Carens range emerged as the sole model to register gains on both annual and monthly charts as a total of 7,921 units were dispatched in June 2025
Kia’s domestic sales in June 2025 stood at 20,625 units representing a month-on-month decline from May’s tally of 22,315 vehicles. The brand also fell short of its June 2024 performance which had seen 21,300 units dispatched across the country. The drop from May translated to an 8 per cent dip while the year-on-year decrease came in at a milder 3 per cent.
Despite the back-to-back reductions, Kia’s volumes stayed above the 20,000-unit mark. Among Kia’s PV fleet, the Carens range emerged as the sole model to register gains on both annual and monthly charts. A total of 7,921 units were dispatched in June 2025 – comfortably ahead of the 5,154 units recorded in the same month last year.
Compared to May 2025, when just 4,524 units had been dispatched the Carens posted a massive 75 per cent jump. On a year-on-year basis, the increase stood at 54 per cent. The numbers can be attributed to the arrival of the Carens Clavis which made its local debut just over a couple of months ago with a starting price of Rs. 11.49 lakh (ex-showroom).

We can expect the momentum to continue as the electric version joined the lineup recently. Offered in both six- and seven-seat configurations, the Carens Clavis receives several changes over the standard version both cosmetically and inside the cabin. Notable among them is the addition of Level 2 ADAS package with 20 semi-autonomous features, supported by 18 passive safety measures – among them are six airbags, electronic stability control and alerts for rear occupants.

Back to the monthly sales, Kia’s compact SUV lineup showed further contraction in June. The Sonet, which once served as the brand’s primary volume driver, fell to 6,658 units – well below 9,816 units recorded during the same month last year and also down from May’s 8,054 figure. The declines amounted to 32 per cent year-on-year and 17 per cent over the previous month. The Seltos followed a similar trajectory, ending June with 5,225 units dispatched. Compared to 6,306 units a year earlier and 6,082 in May 2025, it reported a 17 per cent fall on an annual scale and a 14 per cent month-on-month reduction.
