Tata Nexon

Tata Motors finished behind Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra and Hyundai in the domestic market in August 2025 and here is how it performed model wise

Tata Motors’ car sales in the domestic market declined for the fourth month in a row in July. The company lost the key third position on the sales chart in May and continued ranking fourth for the third straight month. With eight models in showrooms, Tata Motors offers one of the widest ranges of mainstream cars in India.

The company also offers India’s biggest portfolio of electric cars, comprising six models — all derived from ICE models. The Nexon, which is one of the cars available both in ICE and electric variants, was the brand’s best-selling model in July 2025, with 12,825 units sold. Compared to July 2024 (13,902 units), sales of this sub-4-metre small SUV were down 8%.

The Punch, also available in ICE and electric variants, was Tata Motors’ second most popular car in July 2025. The company sold just 10,785 units of this model, though, 33% less than in  July 2024 (16,121 units). Ranking third was the Tiago, which is similarly available in ICE and electric variants. The company delivered 5,575 units of the city car last month, marking a 2% year-over-year decline (July 2024: 5,665 units).
