Maruti Suzuki Fronx was the fastest model in India to reach one lakh sales – achieving the landmark within 10 months of launch
The compact SUV coupe, Maruti Suzuki Fronx, has crossed the 5 lakh cumulative production mark in just 28 months since it first entered the market a couple of years ago. The five-seater, currently priced at Rs. 7.59 lakh to Rs. 13.06 lakh (ex-showroom), has been consistently contributing to the brand’s growth – emerging as one of the most successful new products both in India and overseas.
Unveiled at the Auto Expo 2023, the Fronx drew attention for its sporty design language, feature-rich interior and multiple powertrain options including the return of a turbocharged petrol engine to the brand’s lineup. Highlights such as the nine-inch Smart Play Pro+ infotainment system with wireless connectivity, head up display, a 360-degree camera system and wireless charger help enhance its appeal among buyers in the compact SUV segment.
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx was the fastest model in India to reach one lakh sales – achieving the landmark within 10 months of launch. Following that, the 2 lakh and 3 lakh milestones also came up in record time – reiterating the strong demand. By February 2025, it recorded its highest monthly sales of over 21,400 units – cementing its place among the top performers in the domestic passenger vehicle market.

Exports have also played a significant part in the Fronx’s journey as well. It is worth noting that the SUV became the first “Made in India” Maruti Suzuki SUV to be shipped to Japan, beginning in 2023. It went on to set a record as the fastest SUV to clock 1 lakh exports with additional shipments sent to regions including Latin America, Africa and the Middle East.
In FY 2024-25, the Fronx stood out as the highest exported passenger vehicle from India. One out of every five units produced has been exported – showing its acceptance across multiple international markets. It has certainly helped to further reinforce Maruti Suzuki’s leadership as the country’s top passenger vehicle exporter.

The Fronx has also been a steady performer in India’s top 10 selling vehicles list during FY 2024-25 as well and is powered by a 1.2L petrol and a 1.0L turbo petrol mill with manual and automatic transmission choices. It has also played a key role in Maruti Suzuki recording impressive market share in the SUV space in recent times.
