Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB has gained an exclusive paint shade, Verde Silver, as part of the 1st year anniversary celebration

Mercedes-Benz India is celebrating the first anniversary of the long wheelbase E-Class with the introduction of an exclusive paint shade, Verde Silver, which is heavily inspired by the Mercedes-Maybach palette. Over the past year, the LWB E-Class has established itself as the most sold luxury sedan in India due to several top-notch elements inside and out.

The offering continues to raise the bar with features targetted at Indian customers including Enhanced Agility Control Suspension tuned specifically for local road conditions. Meanwhile, the Active Brake Assist comes as a standard fitment. It is also the first made-in-India Mercedes-Benz vehicle to feature a front centre airbag and it does not stop there!

Practical elements like the spare wheel placed beneath the boot floor, locally produced side and quarter glasses and attention to detail with quarter glass sun blinds and electrically operated rear blinds through MBUX further elevate its overall appeal. The rear seats with up to 36 degrees recline consolidates its appeal as a chauffeur-driven luxury vehicle.

Among the headline additions is the third-gen MBUX Superscreen with AI-backed personalisation across five display styles. The system gets “personalised routines” allowing drivers to automate common tasks. A unique selfie camera has also been provided enabling in-car video calls while the Burmester 4D surround sound system with Dolby Atmos – boasting 17 speakers and four exciters – delivers a 730W audio.

The crash and emission tests conducted in Germany and Spain are in adherence to highest quality standards according to Mercedes-Benz. With the added advantage of price benefits up to Rs. 6 lakh under GST 2.0 restructuring officially, the LWB E-Class Verde Silver has been made available across three trims – E200, E220d, and the range-topping E450 4MATIC AMG Line.

Prices for the Verde Silver edition stand at Rs. 78.5 lakh for the E200, Rs. 80.5 lakh for the E220d and Rs. 91.7 lakh for the E450 4MATIC AMG Line indicating the revised GST 2.0 structure. The E200 is powered by a 2.0L petrol engine that develops 204 hp and 320 Nm with an additional 23 hp and 205 Nm boost available from the mild-hybrid system.

It does 0 to 100 kmph in 7.5 seconds and tops out at 240 kmph. The E220d gets a 2.0L diesel motor which is tuned to produce 197 hp and 440 Nm – again supplemented by an electric boost. Despite its diesel heart, performance remains brisk with a 0 to 100 kmph sprint time of 7.6 seconds and a 238 kmph maximum speed.

At the top of the range sits the E450 4MATIC with a 3.0L six-cylinder petrol putting out 381 hp and 500 Nm – paired with the same hybrid boost for instant torque delivery. This version rockets from 0–100 kmph in just 4.5 seconds before hitting an electronically limited 250 kmph. Mercedes-Benz has also noted that the GLE 450 4MATIC has seen a price reduction of Rs. 8 lakh following GST reforms as it now costs Rs. 1.07 crore (ex-showroom).
