2025 Bajaj Dominar series gets new features such as ride by wire throttle with four ride modes, new handlebar and more

The Dominar nameplate steps into a new phase as Bajaj has updated both the 400 and 250 for 2025. The new feature additions aim at further improving long distance capabilities and usability. At Rs 2.38 lakh for the Dominar 400 and Rs 1.91 lakh for the 250, both ex-showroom Delhi, the new versions boast the most prominent change being the adoption of ride by wire technology on the Dominar 400, managed via an electronic throttle body.

It enables four riding modes: Road, Rain, Sport and Off-Road. Meanwhile, the Dominar 250 retains a mechanical throttle body but integrates four selectable ABS modes. The Chakan-based manufacturer has introduce a redesigned handlebar which aims to reduce wrist fatigue over long distances. The speedometer has shifted to a bonded glass unit with an integrated flap, prioritising legibility under tough weather.

Bajaj has also added a dedicated GPS mount on the carrier, tailored to riders who rely on precise navigation rather than phone-based improvisation. In addition, switchgear has been subtly revised to provide clearer tactile response. As the speedometer now sits under a weather sealed panel, enabling old school visibility with improved durability.

The Dominar’s journey began in 2017 as a sports tourer with muscle. Over the years, it has grown into something more grounded – especially with Bajaj’s ‘Dominar Odysseys’ initiative, where the motorcycles have crossed continents and clocked serious mileage including rides across the Arctic and along the Trans-Siberian Highway.

With seven successful Odysseys and over three lakh kilometres collectively covered by riders, the Dominar has built its reputation through use rather than image. With no performance updates, the 2025 Bajaj Dominar 400 is equipped with a 373 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine producing a maximum power output of 39.42 bhp at 8,800 rpm and 35 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm.

Both engines are paired with a six-speed transmission with a slipper and assist clutch as standard.
