The all-new BMW F 450 GS will be manufactured in India by TVS; expected to go on sale by the end of 2025 or early 2026
BMW Motorrad has finally taken the wraps off the production-spec version of the F 450 GS at the EICMA 2025. The ADV will be the new entry-level model in the brand’s GS range of motorcycles, as the G 310 GS has now been discontinued. While its official launch timeline is under wraps, we expect it to hit the Indian shores in the coming months.
It is also important to note that the new BMW adventure motorcycle will be manufactured by TVS in India at its Hosur-based facility. The F 450 GS will be powered by a 420cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, putting out 47.5 hp and 43 Nm of peak torque. The new motor is mated to a 6-speed gearbox, using BMW’s Shift Assistant Pro, which is a quickshifter technology for clutch-less upshifts and downshifts.
It also comes with the Easy Ride Clutch function, eliminating the need to manually operate the clutch lever while riding. This applies to all situations, from starting off and changing gears to demanding off-road manoeuvres. This feature is offered as standard fitment in the Trophy variant. The new BMW ADV is available in four trims, i.e. Basic, Exclusive, Sport and Trophy.
The Basic is the base-spec model, while the range extends up to range-topping Trophy trim. On the hardware front, the F 450 GS gets 43mm KYB USD forks at the front and a rear mono-shock, with a 180 mm suspension travel. The Sport and GS Trophy variants come with the sports suspension, featuring adjustment for rebound and compression damping.
The braking duties will be handled by a floating 310 mm single-disc brake with a Brembo 4-piston fixed calliper at the front and a 240 mm disc at the rear with a 1-piston floating calliper. The ADV rides on a 19/17-inch front/rear setup with tubeless spoke wheels. The fuel tank capacity stands at 14 litres, with a range of over 350 kilometres between stops. The BMW F 450 GS offers three riding modes as standard, i.e. Rain, Road and Enduro. Standard equipment also includes ABS Pro, Dynamic Brake Control (DBC), Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) and engine drag torque control (MSR).
The adventure motorcycle comes with a two-part seat (845 mm) as standard. The 830 mm and 860 mm seat height options are available as an accessory, based on individual requirements. In terms of tech, the F 450 GS gets a large 6.5-inch TFT display as standard, along with a USB-C socket in the cockpit area and an LED headlight with the iconic “X” daytime riding light signature.
