New Renault Duster is expected to be competitively priced in India against midsize SUV rivals as it is heavily localised
Customer deliveries of the all-new Renault Duster are scheduled to commence in April with pre-reservations already underway through an R Pass priced at Rs. 21,000. The official prices are confirmed to be revealed on March 17 as well. The Strong Hybrid E-Tech version of the midsize SUV will be introduced around Diwali 2026 and the SUV will be backed by coverage of up to seven years or 1,50,000 km.
Unveiled recently in Chennai, the third-gen Duster is the first move as part of Renault’s International Game Plan 2027 for India. Built on the Renault Group’s modular architecture, more than 90 per cent of the SUV has been developed specifically for local conditions. The flexible platform is also set to underpin a three-row derivative next financial year.
The new Duster incorporates 35 safety features to meet stringent global standards. Inside the cabin, a 10.1-inch OpenR Link touchscreen equipped with built-in Google services enabling native access to Maps, Assistant and the Play Store without relying on smartphone mirroring can be found. It is complemented by a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster displaying navigation and vehicle data.

Over 60 connected functions can be accessed through Renault’s app ecosystem while 17 ADAS features, hill descent control and configurable multi-sense drive modes allow drivers to tailor driving based on their requirements. In addition, an elevated centre console houses an electronic gear selector, though frequently used controls retain physical switches.
Seats feature contoured cushioning with contrast yellow stitching and the cabin theme includes Mountain Jade leatherette upholstery, carbon-finish surfaces and metallic accents. Other highlights are ventilated and power-adjustable front seats, dual-zone climate control with PM2.5 filtration, a panoramic sunroof, powered tailgate and 32.6 litres of storage spaces.

On the outside, the five-seater gets a trapezoidal grille highlighted by yellow accents, full-LED lighting elements and a slim horizontal rear light signature. Protective cladding and 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels along with a new Mountain Jade Green paint option coupled with a contrasting black, sleek tail lamps and busy bumper section are present.
The headlining strong hybrid E-Tech 160 tech uses a 1.8-litre GDI petrol motor with a 1.4 kWh battery – enabling up to 80 per cent electric-only operation during urban driving. Alongside it, a 1.3-litre turbocharged TCe 160 petrol unit delivers 163 PS and 280 Nm and is offered with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed wet dual-clutch automatic transmission. An entry-level 1.0-litre turbo petrol is mated to a manual gearbox.
