With over 28,000 units sold, Bajaj has regained the top spot in electric 2W sales in October 2025, surpassing TVS
As competition in the electric two-wheeler segment continues to grow, market dynamics are shifting rapidly, with legacy players maintaining their top positions. The month of October 2025 is no different as Bajaj Auto rallies ahead of TVS Motor Company in the electric two-wheeler market.
Ather Energy stood at the third spot, while Ola Electric slipped to the fifth position. Hero Motocorp’s electric arm Vida recorded its best-ever monthly sales in October 2025. Overall, the electric two-wheeler sales remained stagnant while registering over 1.3 lakh units, as opposed to 1.35 lakh units in October 2024. This is despite the festive season boom and a few players recording their best-ever monthly figures.
Talking about the numbers, Bajaj came out at the top in electric two-wheeler sales in October 2025 by selling over 28,000 units. TVS was not too far behind with the sales bar standing at over 27,600 units. The rare earth magnet shortage plagued Bajaj’s overall production in the past few months, however, as per the reports, the company managed to pile up enough inventory, which led to the previous bookings converting into sales.

Ather Energy, the Bengaluru-based EV start-up, saw its best-ever monthly sales to date, clocking over 25,000 units. The company saw steady progress over the past few months, while narrowly brushing past the third spot. In October 2025, it finally occupied the third spot, much ahead of its primary rival, Ola Electric. For reference, Ather has been holding on to the third spot since September.
The Vida saw a total sales of around 15,000 units, grossing its highest ever monthly numbers. This highlights the increasing popularity of Vida amongst the customers, fueled by the new BaaS (Battery as a Service) model, bringing down the initial sticker cost. Apart from this, strong marketing also contributed to the brand’s growth.

While Ola Electric continues to hold the number 3 spot in total January-October 2025 sales with 1.74 lakh units (Ather Energy at 1.55 lakh units), it continues to see a downward trend in the month-on-month analysis. The consistent strong performance of Ather in the previous months means that it can bridge this gap with Ola Electric in the overall yearly sales. We expect a clear picture to emerge in the coming months.
