Harley-Davidson X440 is now available only in two variants namely Vivid and S and its prices have gone down by Rs. 25,000
A couple of days ago, Harley-Davidson India announced the launch of the new X440 T in the domestic market for a starting price of Rs. 2.79 lakh (ex-showroom). To streamline the brand’s entry-level lineup, the prices of the standard X440 has been reduced by up to Rs. 25,000. It is now available only in S and Vivid trims as the base Denim trim has been scrapped.
The Harley-Davidson X440’s Vivid variant is priced at Rs. 2,34,500 while the S trim costs Rs. 2,54,900 (ex-showroom). The motorcycle has been confirmed to get the new front suspension tuning found in the new X440 T which has received a total of 72 changes in comparison. The most obvious of changes in the new roadster are a revised rear end and a new rear sub-frame.
The X440 T has been made available in a total of four colour schemes namely Vivid Black, Pearl Red, Pearl Blue and Pearl White. Besides graphical changes, the motorcycle has received a new electronic throttle body which enables the presence of ride-by-wire throttle system and two ride modes (Rain and Road) while switchable rear ABS system is another notable addition.

It uses the same 440 cc air- and oil-cooled SOHC 2V engine producing a maximum power output of 27 bhp at 600 rpm and 38 Nm of peak torque delivered at 4,000 rpm. The powertrain is linked with a six-speed transmission while a slipper and assist clutch is standard. The exhaust system has also gained updates for better efficiency and improved cooling along with a heat shield.
Built on a trellis frame, the HD X440 T is suspended on 43 mm KYB-sourced upside down front forks with 130 mm travel while gas charged twin shock absorbers with 7-step preload adjustability do the duty in the rear. As for braking, 320 mm front disc and 240 mm rear disc brakes are complemented by a dual-channel ABS system.

HD has also added bar-end mirrors to enhance the appeal of the X440 T. It boasts a ground clearance of 170 mm, wheelbase of 1,418 mm and a seat height of 805 mm. It rides on 18-inch 100/90 section front and 17-inch 140/70 section MRF Zapper Hyke tubeless tyres. The fuel tank capacity stands at 13.5 litres and the motorcycle tips the weighing scale at 192 kg.
