Bookings for the Honda CB125 Hornet will commence on August 1, 2025 ahead of the price announcement; to rival TVS Raider 125 and Hero Xtreme 125R
A few days ago, Honda introduced a new entry into the 125 cc segment as the CB125 Hornet was showcased alongside the Shine 100 DX as part of the 25th anniversary. The official bookings for both offerings will commence on August 1 and we expect the prices to be revealed in the due course of next month as well.
Powering the new Hornet is a 123.94 cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine. The motor uses fuel injection, adheres to OBD2B norms, and is built to run on petrol blended with up to 20 per cent ethanol. It kicks out 11 hp max power at 7,500 rpm and 11.2 Nm of peak torque delivered at 6,000 rpm and is linked with a five-speed transmission.
The Japanese manufacturer claims that the CB125 Hornet delivers class-best acceleration, covering the 0 to 60 kmph run in 5.4 seconds. Weighing in at 124 kg, the motorcycle is underpinned by a diamond-type frame which is said to manage weight distribution and is intended to support agile and responsive handling.

The equipment list comprises segment-first USD front forks, all LED lighting, rear monoshock with five-step adjustability, a 4.2-inch TFT screen with Bluetooth pairing and smartphone integration, turn-by-turn navigation, call and SMS alerts, ignition key mounted on the tank, split seats, front and rear disc brakes assisted by a single-channel ABS system and so on.
As for the design, the CB125 Hornet draws styling cues from larger street fighters in Honda’s portfolio. Elements such as a sculpted fuel tank, sharp tank extensions and an angular parted headlamp assembly give the motorcycle a sporty appearance compared to its more conservative stablemates in the entry-level segments. The contrast 17-inch alloy wheels and a stubby exhaust complete the visual package.

The CB125 Hornet will sit in the competitive 125 cc space that already features models such as the Bajaj Pulsar NS 125, TVS Raider and Hero Xtreme 125R. Where the final price lands could determine how much ground it manages to claim in a tightly contested segment but considering the presence of USDs and a TFT screen, it could cost around Rs. 1.15-1.20 lakh (ex-showroom).
